nah- here is my x-mas gifts

    http://www.cncfusion.com/images/X3mo...s/CIMG4961.JPG
(with helical couplings for the x/y axis)
    which is $650.

then a face mill, inserts for it, a .0002" 6" digital caliper, and some more cnc parts

I realized with those tools i just wouldn't be able to pay them off. Maybe one day ill try to get a small 7x12, 9x19, or similar lathe and convert it myself with a spindle encoder

whats on your list walt? anything fun?

^^^^^^^^ No more room in the toy Box!

Do you have a good dial indicator and Base ? You hould check all the table slide runouts and spindle so you know where you started before you start putting the new lead screws in.You'll need it for the retrofit too.

so guys last night i stayed up late to see if i could get the test rig up and running. so after i got it charged with r290 it was running just great i was getting -33c at 200 watts then all of a sudinht e low side sucked into vacuum as well the high side droped as well. so i was thinking at frist muck i have a leak. so i shut it off and looked for any leaks with leakdetector stuff and could not find any. So when i found there was no leaks i got down to thinking what could cause this to happen. now does anyone have a idea what might be happening here. as at first i thought maybe it was a blocked cap tube but if it was that the high side would have gone up instead it got lower.oh ya as well after it does this and i shut it down the sides don't equlize. here i will give u guys the model number of the compressor maybe there is something i am missing

Sorry, I didn't see this before so I am really late, but this is definitely from a blocked cap tube, most likely from moisture. Been there more times than I'd have liked! When this happens, both high side and low side pressure will drop exactly as you have described and it won't equalize or it will equalzie slowly. If it doesn't equalize even after giving it time to warm up, then it's probably something plugging the capillary that the drier didn't catch.

If it keeps doing it and you are sure it's water because it equalizes after warming up, then recover your refrigerant(since it's R290 I guess this doesn't really matter so much) and vacuum it out while heating the drier. Heating everything would be even better if you have a small space heater you could turn on low just to warm things up a little bit to speed up the process. After that you should be good to go.

im thinking about getting this lathe this weekend
    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=45861

as i have a 20% off coupon. sure the grizzly 10x22 is a 3x better lathe, but $1100 is a lot of money when you already have a mill

    teyber,
Please do some checking around, Harborfreight equipment does not have high standards. I dont want to see you spend that kind of cash and then cant get quality work out of it.
Try looking up some reviews on the equipment and see what is said about it.
Another place is MSC, or check criaglist, or ebay.

I know you have heard all of this before but I just had to say it.
