Yay! Finally a thread for us

Anybody working with the new bios yet? Results?

As for the soundcard... All you have to do is bend off the first 4 heatsink pins on the bottom row of the NB sink and it'll fit just fine. Go look on the Asus forums. There's a guy who posted pics. Seems easier and chaper than replacing the sink with an aftermarket one

I having the weirdest problem. Everything works fine until I shutdown the computer and try to turn it on 20 minutes later. All I get is a flicker of light (as if the computer is starting to boot up) and nothing happens. The only way to get the computer started is to turn off the power supply, wait a couple of minutes, and turn it on. Works fine except for the warm boot issue. Any ideas? Thanks.

What kind of pay are you using?

I had this issue on an old Asus board of mine and it was psu related. I changed my distribution of components over differnt 12v rails and everything got fixed

Switch the 8 pin CPU power cable with the 4x4 plug. Should fix you right up

Were you experiencing the same problem? And was it fixed with simply swiching the cable? If it does I feel like such an ass. I've already RMAed the mobo.

The only thing they changed in the 08 bios is Some compatibility of Raid cards.

Exact same issue... Press power, fires up fir a second then powers right down. Pressing the power button again does nothing.
Only way to get it running was to turn off the psu at the switch, leave it off for a couple of seconds. Then turn it back on and everything works fine.

I rma'd my mobo twice and psu 3 times before I figured out that using the 4x4 CPU cable fixed the prob

I am having a problem getting my system to work when using Corsair 3 x 2Gb DDR3 Dominator PC3-12800C8 1600MHz at both 1333 or 1600. If i run 2 sticks everything runs fine and as soon as i insert the 3rd stick the system boots and instantly BSOD's then reboots. I have tried moving the sticks to different dimms with no change. I have tested all the sticks individually and they all pass memtest just fine. When I raise the Dram voltage to 1.61-1.65 the system refuses to boot all together. Did i miss a required BIOS setting change or something of that nature? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And my full system specs are as follows.

    i7 920 - Rampage II Extreme X 58
    2 XFX 9800GX 2's - Corsair 3 x 2GB DDR3 Dominator PC3-12800C8 1600MHz
    2 WD Raptor X 150GB- PC Power & Cooling 750w-X-Fi Titanium - Fatal1ty

I've got another problem, has anyone ever heard of it-

Set an overclock to 4ghz on my 965, all is stable and fine, runs prime without a problem. Problem is Vista, core temp and real temp all read the overclock @ 3.7. CPUZ reads it correctly @4ghz. This is quiet strange so i install Everest to see what it reads, it performs the usual start up test then when it gets to "read cpu speed" i get a BSOD.

Is this a mobo fault? Should i wait for a new bios or RMA ?

Yep. Same here. As soon as I start Everest, BSOD. I'm using Vista 64. I can't remember what version I'm using and I can't access it now. (RMAed mobo)
