**Official DFI LanParty UT X48-T2R(and LT) Discussion

Probably the limit of the board itself as my DFI UT P35-T2R, LT X38-T2R and UT X48-T3RS all topped out around 500-510FSB for 32M pi and around 510-525FSB for validation.

my board is prime stable @ 554fsb with e6850 so its not the limit of the board
n now with e8600 not stable over 515fsb
edit:best so far is 602 +603 bios and 63% gtl settings but cant get 510fsb+ stable with e8600
i can clock gskills 9600 1300mhz+ with e6300 e6850 but not e8600

Hey guys, I was wondering when u make use of the power savings options: CPU vid control:auto and using VID special add. I want to make use of CE1, when I enbaled it, with a DIMM measured it fluctates every 1secs from 1.240 up to 1.256 ( kept my DIMM pointed for like 30secs), and during load it goes to 1.338.
However when u dont make use of CE1, volts are pretty much stable, fluctates at max 0.001, is those flucations bad for the cpu when using CE1?

The 1st time you get in you see all the options and after you save and quit they are gone

Any pointers in how to get that menu back or just flashing to an older bios?

for DFI trying to make user friendly BIOS one of the reasons one buy DFi is because their BIOS takes ages to master.

dont bother with the bios anyways is crap
in the last few releases all i see is less performance and less overclockability
they should scrap all bioses n start with 602 or 603

i can goto 550 fsb with e6400 and 4 gigs set but i cant go past 510 with e8600

Unfortunatly for users who want to use 2 x 4870 X2's in crossfire then they dont have much choice but to flash to A02, Ive flashed to it myself and not noticed any difference between A02 and 829.

1.42v core 1.4v vtt1.5v vcmh lowest setting
i'm sure it will go higher with more juice lol

and the worst of it is all bioses after 602 are so damn slow

603 is x38, I would imagine 602 is X48

they skipped it for the lt x48

try harder
use 68-71% gtl setting
set pl to 8 nb to 1.63v n use only 333/800 divider

well i aint gonna but my e8600 in my x38 till dfi bios engineers gets their foot outa their asses
i strongly suspect the board was missengineered somewhere cause a cheap p5e gettin e8600 to 550fsb++ easy

Anyways, I'm going to go try going back to an earlier BIOS because it seems my E8400 is having a tough time getting to 4GHz stable with the 10/02 set.

finally got it stable . i had to lower vtt to 1.1v and i kept gtls on auto this time.
vcore had to go way up to 1.41v !! i think i know why , it was used a fair bit for benching and comps so prolly at end of life.
well, unless its what zsamz is saying about new bios. later i might try older bios see if it makes a difference.
temps are ok at 1.41v though so ill keep it for 24/7 for now

i know its done some mega volts ,and almost 6ghz @-100c
i knew this before i bought it. but high volts do eventually kill em anyway.
ive tried everything , my ram is rock stable its vcore it seems to want unfortunatly.
the more vtt the more unstable it gets as well. really doesnt like vtt.

PS- with tref , was higher better? cant remember now lol 8704T is that too high for 4gb?

Yup im on it and dont see any difference what-so-ever in this one to the previous two.

most of the last ones are the same
in fact they are slower than older ones
they just good for ati X2 cards

Its just so the board can support newer 45nm CPU's like the E0 stepping etc, CPU's that without an updated bios wont work properly, or maybe not at all.

... I use E0 stepping now on 603, that cant be it.

I really liked the 602 the problem with it is the bad 400/1066 strap.

I have to look witch BIOS works best with that mem strap without insane volts or locking windows.

I know there is one out there a guy running 1300@DDR2 with 400/1066 strap on G.Skill Pi thread has it.
