I am hoping the same and according to wikipedia, the mobile variant of westmere is gonna be released Q3 2009, but not the desktop chips. ARGH!!!!

yep,makes sense.
Together with atom 2 (ie Pineview) will debut the 32nm process.
or Intel shrink silverthorne to 32nm first as someone stated earlier (small size,less complex, again good vehicle to test new process).

notice in the road map that Q4 is empty
and also Intel usually lunch their new Processors on Q4

so if all goes well expect Q4 for the 32 nm shrink of Nehalem (Westmere)

If that's true, then Havendale/Lynnfield will be replaced very quickly, just like Yonah.
Nehalem won't stay for long, and it's the first of it's kind in many ways.

well you still have the E1xxx and E2xxx line, replace the Celeron 440 with the E1xxx and done.

actually, all the silverthorne like stuff still has life left on 45nm. Think of Silverthorne more as a test of the Bonell core and market acceptance. Pineview and Lynncroft are a few of the specialized branches that the Bonell core will be comimg out on 45nm with next year.

for servers dunnington release is imminent, meaning intel has 6core cpus befor amd and backton (octocore) is target somewhere in Q209.

I'm also waiting for westmere. 6 cores + HT (right?). Would be a suitable upgrade to my q6600 system.
