    P4P800 droop mod help!

    okay....

i've searched teh forums and looked at all the pictures.

i just wanted to be 100% sure before I did it.

In the picture posted by morkai, i cant' tell where one of the soldering points is and ace-a-rue posted where but i just didn't understand by his description.

here is a link to the picture with some circles as to where to solder.

the blue circle i'm sure about but i can't tell if the other wire is soldered onto the green or red circle.

also, can you use a 100k vr instead? and what resistance do you have to dial it to?

    thanks!

here's the link to the picture

be sure you magnify the picture to see the circles!

Thanks again go Ace-a-rue for your help!

Dialed my 200K VR to 28K

voltages are steady and don't dip down below what i've set in the bios

but idle voltages seem a little high!

    1.625 bios = 1.72ish idle = 1.63- 1.66 load

good mod! thanks to all those that posted... good reads all over this forum!

Come on mate, which was it, green or red?

I've heard it all, I've seen it all, I've done it all. I just don't remember any of it.

dumb question-but what does this mod do?

"The command and conquer model," said the EA CEO, "doesn't work. If you think you're going to buy a developer and put your name on the label... you're making a profound mistake."

    it's the green one!!!

what this mod does is it stabilizes the voltage under load...

i dunno if you have an asus board or not but this board is wacko when it comes to the voltage range under load...

1.7 volts bios drops all the way down to 1.58 and up to 1.78ish when idle..

now... i have the bios voltage as 1.625... idle is stil high around 1.72 but load is stable at around 1.68ish and doesn't fluctuate very much at all
