I have removed the entire Asus heatsink for use Artic Silver and I have off many little washers, which have the heatsink in each screw hole (very littles and blacks) But now i count washers and i have one more than holes free! Does anyone know what hole should have two washers instead of one?
    Thanks!
I'm pretty sure none have two - look carefully around the holes on the heatpipe assembly for signs of glue and that's where it belongs. Same thing happened to me !.

    thanks buddy

i have no problem with 2:3 600FSB tRD9, it is almost 24/7 stable. tRD10 is stable for whatever i can throw at it with 1.50vMCH.

i was also just playing with the 5:8 last night for that last AM3 run i posted and again, quite solid at 600FSB tRD9 but seems to be a bit more stressful on the MCH, probably the higher memory clocks. i managed to squeeze this out for the 32M LCC...

it is tRD 9 but all but the fifth phase for both channels is pulled into tRD8...but just look at the MCH voltage needed.

i haven't tried 3:4 so i can't comment on what it takes, but i would try with 2:3 first and vMCH around 1.50v or 1.55v and tRD10 then try to work your way down. it should be pretty straight forward as i think most of these boards should do that. make sure the memory static read and write are disabled, but that is about all that should be required. within ten minutes of firing the board up for the first time, i was priming at those settings. all other voltages were set just a notch or two above AUTO to make sure they weren't over volting as ASUS loves to do.

i should have all voltages listed in the dual 32M runs in the OC Report at the beginning of this thread but i think all voltages were what i listed above. i was also on 206 for those but 403 is what i have been on since then and it is the same pretty much. any of those kits should work fine, my G.Skill GTR are the monsters they were in the 790i up to about 1000MHz, then they quickly run out of gas. my Ballistix GTS hit a wall at 1030MHz. JNM apparently are the ICs to use as Over@locker886 showed in his crazy clocks on the 1:2 ratio...

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=1#post3148202

but for just 600FSB 2:3 any of your kits should be fine, heck even 600FSB 5:8 they should be fine.

HTH and be sure to report back, i will fire the board up and maybe do BIOS screenshots of my 600FSB 2:3 24/7 stable settings and post them in the BIOS section in the OC Report.

BTW, AirLiquide screwed me out of filling my dewar today for the weekend..."oh yeah swing by at 4PM after work and we will fill'er up for you no problem."... @4..."ahh the LN2 guys left early today, you should have swung by on your lunch and dropped the dewar off..."

Aww, thermal paste must be real expensive @ Asus.

Is the heatpipeconstruction attached with screws only?

Looks like i'm gonna have to take a peek under there soon as i get mine.

Anyone measured the distance between the holes of the fusion block?

I'd like to replace it with an EK block.

The bios 404 is broken, at least for me. Ignores any changes you make in volts. Always send the default for all voltages.
    It happens to someone else?

I will try other Bios now ...

When u claim very cheap what price would that be and from where? I ask cause i m really interested on this mobo. And another question, does Ramage extreme prefer duals or 45nm quads for high but 24/7 stable operation?

no idea about quads, someone else can jump in there, but it loves duals for high FSB, even for 24/7. the 600FSB dual 32M screenshots i show at the beginning of this thread are 24/7 stable with a little adjusting of tRD (performance level). even on the 5:8 ratio, the board is still 100% 24/7 Prime Blend/OCCT/gaming stable at tRD 10 and decent voltages

    Here in Greece DDR3 is ultra expensive atm. I would like to go with a 2x2Gb kit but the only one in a decent price is CORSAIR XMS3 DHX DDR3 4GB (2X2GB) PC3-12800 (1600MHZ) CL9 or OCZ OCZ3P16004GK 4GB (2X2GB) PC-12800 1600MHZ PLATINUM EDITION. If i choose to go with 2x1Gb kit i can go with G.SKILL F3-12800CL7D-2GBHZ 2GB (2X1GB) DDR3 PC3-12800, CORSAIR XMS3 DHX DDR3 2GB (2X1GB) PC3-12800. All other kits like mushkin,transcent,cellshock,kingston are in excess of 210+ euros.

If u had to choose among these what would you go for? 2x1gb g.skill/corsair or 2x2gb ocz/corsair? Have to be mobo compartible with some oc abilities ofc.

Need finally to make my mind between M2F+DDR2 or Rampage Extreme+DDR3

Well, after having made many tests with this board can say that my very expensive 2x2GB OCZ Reaper 14400 do NOT fit in this board, which is no surprise to anyone. Anything other settings than the JEDEC 7-7-7-20 @ 1333 produces hard restarts and freezys and, yes, bios corruptions, like others have already said here. My problem with the voltages in the 404 is a corruption problem, i.e. Now i know.
The Bios stability in general is very very bad in this board and I hope it´s only a problem with mems/inmadurity.

I tested deeply many Maximus II Formula, whose bios is virtually identical, but this bios and overall stability with my quad was rock solid, perhaps because I used with this boards a pair of Gskill 8800 DDR2 and no other mem?

@MikeMk: Are you already fix all your bios problems with the upgrade to Gskill sticks?

In my country GSkill 12800/14400 its very difficult to buy now, what other mem for 4GB is recommended? Perhaps Dominator?

i am at the point with this board that i am not really recommending any memory because it seems too hit and miss. you really want to talk to someone who has tried the exact kit you are looking at and then hope they are the same ICs as you.

all of the kits you have listed i have never touched except the G.SKILL F3-12800CL7D-2GBHZ 2GB (2X1GB) kit and mine are the older GTR. heck, word out is that the newer kits are Samsung based which might even be better with this board than the Micron D9GTS/D9JNM that was showing up on those modules a couple months ago. with that said, my D9GTR based kit loves this board...up to high 9xxMHz range where it refuses to run any higher regardless of voltage or timings.

if you want a 2x2GB kit though, the OCZ Platinums are never a bad option. you get great OCZ support and warranty, and if there is a compatibility issue, OCZ is most likely of anyone to get you sorted from their side if they can. maybe someone can vouch for that kit on this board...might want to head over to the OCZ forums as i am sure someone there can provide that info. Can someone tell me how CPU GLT Ref works on 0,1,2,3 ? If i give for example +10mv on all four, can i lower the vcore a bit or what does it do? I´m running a E8600

The effectiveness of GTLs depends entirelly on the Vcore/Vtt synchrony for each FSB. Sometimes helps raise, sometimes help lower. The GTL is a reference voltage, not a power line.

I can see in your sig you r running Rampage extreme with G.Skills F3-12800 HZ and a Dual. Did u have any memory related issues with bios, any incompabilities or windows (x64) instalation issues? I really want to get this board instead of the M2F but i m also trying to find memory modules (2x1 or 2x2) that will work without any issue at all.
