I'm not a cat person -- at all -- but when my wife's childhood cat died at 20, I couldn't really argue with her. So we adopted Reagan.
The clinic found her, at seven weeks old, living in the engine compartment of an abandoned Chevy truck in one of the worse parts of Queens. She was pretty scruffy when we first got her, only two days after she was rescued:
Worms, pneumonia, and malnourished as hell.
But no worries! After some time being spoiled rotten by my wife (and now by me), she's fat and happy. Also has the single sweetest disposition I've seen in any animal. Not a mean bone in her body.

very cute cat aMp!
This thread needs more action shotsPicture taken with my 6 year old ixus v2.
I have a question. One of my cats just loves to run in front of me and then walk slowly - like he thinks he's a seeing eye cat. I think he's trying to walk at the same speed and just doesn't get it right. What's up with that?
AMP!!! Reagan looks EXACTLY like my baby Angel!
We also got her from Animal Rescue. They named her "patunia", but I hated it. It sounded like someone spitting. She was thrown out like garbage with her siblings, taken from her mother way too soon, so they had to nurse her and her brothers and sisters. We got her when she wasn't really a kitten anymore but was still very very small. I could only take one and my mother could only take one... and she didn't want Angel's brother. I almost didn't have the heart to seperate them. She was really depressed without him for several months, walking around the house crying.
She eventually moved on, and she still acts like a kitten.Hyper as freakin hell, explores EVERYTHING, is constantly finding things to play with, will chase a fly for hours, etc. I love her so much, she's almost like a child to me. I wish I could get her brother... but I still can only take care of 1 right now.

This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions, twists all our arms collectively, but if sweetness can win, and it can, then I'll still be here tomorrow to high-five you yesterday, my friend. Peace.
My cats, Tiggy & Dave, Dave is the black one.

At least you saved one of them. My gf got our second cat from a 'no kill' shelter and we made a donation at the time to help them out. But they're in Princeton so they have a wealthier base to work from. Most of the shelters won't keep cats and dogs indefinitely.
They are truly adorable. If they're raised together from kittens, do they tend to get along better? Both of our cats were loners until we forced them together and even after a few years, they're both very territorial. One has staked out the rec room, spare room and kitchen. The other one has the rest of the house. Sometimes they'll play and even nap together, but mostly they stick to their territories.
Well I have 3 cats, Tiger, Panda and Nuinui(little girl in Chinese). I have there pics on my other PC, I will get some posted soon.
Tiger we rescued from outside our appartment block when he was 10-12weeks. Kind of thru himself at my wifes feet and she just had to pick him up and take him home....
NuiNui we got from a cat rescue center for a friend to Tiger.
Panda found us one morning sitting outside our door crying for food! He looked so cute so we took him in aswell!

My nephew found them on the street when they were about 5-6weeks old, We adopted them (put a few fliers around to try and find the owners) and have had them near a year now, They are both boys,We thought tiggy was a girl until they both hit about 4-5months old then it became obvious they were boys but they really love each other, A few times they have been separated from each other, mostly through accident from rushing out to work and locking one in a room or the window cleaner shutting the window with one in and one out and when they get together they hug it out and clean each other. Always sleep together as well.

I like this revival
here are my two "babies"
Oreo, about 4 years old. "rescued" her from my cousin a couple years ago because her kids were basically torturing her. She's still extremely jumpy and grumpy sometimes but she's calmed down a lot. She's taken a liken to me the most though. Very lovable on HER agenda
and my little precious Shade. She's about 9 months old now. she is the most silly/funny/comfortable cat I've seriously ever seen. I can't even describe how many laughs she gets. she loves to just PLOP right on the ground to be pet, no matter where it is.
^ bonus pic of my dog benny biting Shade's butt when she was around 3 months old. so cute :P he's practically her dad, always protecting her.

Very cute. It's hard to believe that such small animals can produce so much fur. We were thinking of saving the brushings and getting an old fashioned spinning wheel to make thread out of it. Probably wouldn't work though. I think the fur has built in sensors that can detect fans and dark clothing.

Buddy has been very sick lately and stopped eating over a week ago, blood work from the vet came back ok and xray showed fluid in the lungs. He is breathing heavy and I have been force feeding him for a week now. After 16 years it hurts real bad to see him like this and even harder knowing I will most likely have him put to sleep tomorrow. I dont want him to suffer and I cannot keep up the force feedings. Im realizing how attached I have become to my little buddy, I wanted to say a little something and show off his handsomeness.
RIP Xtreme Buddy December 2 2008

Aww...that's awful.I'm a real cat person, and it always makes me sad to hear about sick cats...especially when you know you can only put them to sleep after a certain point. He reminds me of my cat, Karl. My condolences...seems like a very loyal cat.
I'll post some of Karl later on.
