Thank your very much, but i havent expected that it comes so late
I thougt they have learned something from the DK(new bios etc.) so there is not much more to do for the UT

    The link doesnt work
It should also be available here today/tomorrow.

then are you happy with myself reviewing it even knowing that i had a hand in it?>

Well just to confirm if it produces good results, i dont want any comments from people 'saying ooooooh you would say that, you had a hand on the board design' I do not want anyone to say that ok, I was honest from the outset that I have a active interest in that board.

I will review it on the understanding of the above, and I did inform you all from the outset!

    Is this agreed and fair?

    cheers

smooth layout, sexy color, but wat's up with those USB headers? wouldnt they conflict with, say the new ATI x2 cooler, in cf?
it's good to have an "inside man" posting, cause it keeps the thread away from unuseful supositions and flaming...

Gilgamesh, you need to remove that lanparty logo from your site, I made that from scratch, you have removed my watermark - that's copyright infringement.

yup already made lots of observations about the northbridge heatink

if my my crtisize my own and DFI's work here

The way that we have allowed the end user to install a water block without the removal of the PWM sinks, is to SPLIT the northbridge heatsink in half. The removal of the heatsink shows a FLAT base (as per my photos) this is where the water block goes.

The bolts to hold dow nthe heatsink are from top to bottom with the nuts being on the under side of the board:

Obvious disadvantage to this is that the board has to be TAKEN out of the case to install a water block:

Suggestions MADE to DFI to day ARE AS FOLLOWS:

    hristopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    heat sink
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    on northbridge
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    for
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    the t2rsb+
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    got a reat idea
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    great
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    make the screws 1cm taller
    keep goning
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    and reverse them
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
so the nuts are at the top
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    that way
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    you can install water block
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
without having to take the motherboard out
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    water^^
    I got your idea
    will discuss with heatpipe designer
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
ok cheers makes sense though doesnt it?
    thaks a lot
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
like i said if we make those screws longger and the nuts on the top then we have a winner!
    sure

    it might be possible
so discuss with designer soon and give you feedback
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    ok bud cheers
but apply to next model not t2rsb+ since it already be launched
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
ok we can use that whole heatiskn idea
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    for the whole dk range
    christopher_cressey@hotmail.com says:
    it works really well
every dk and jr series will be applied

So in essence if the bolts were reversed and went upwards instead of down and were 1-2cm longer then there would be no need to take the motherboard out of the case to install a water block, as then the SAME mounting screws can be used

A simple idea don't you agree but an effective one

gilgamesh1, as you seem to have a good connection to DFI - please ask them, why they always refer to "digital voltage regulation" when there are just old school caps and chokes around the cpu socket.
DFI produced boards with digital vr, so they should know the difference.

    @gilgamesh1

In my experience the UT P35 TR2 would have been better board if the NB Sink can be removed just like the X48 board. hehehe Its great to see that the DARK series has gone a long way since the P965-S Dark.

BTW, there is one more rant I have for the DK boards. Hard soldered bios chips. hehehe But I guess that feature is best left for the LT/UT series.
