hi, can someone help me with the CPU VTT/GTL settings. In Clunk's guide (http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/12436-post11.html), the lowest CPU VTT in bios is 1.1v but in my UT bios the lowest I can choose is 1.211v. also 1.211v in bios result 1.21 in windows ( read by smartguard--is it accurate?). If the smartguard reading is not accurate then I dont know the real cpu vtt, i assume I should just follow the guide then? say 1.25v in bios, and set gtl to 110 105 85? also whats the recommend setting for q6600 g0 over 450fsb? many thanks

65nm processors use a different GTLREF table. Won't be able to select less then 1.20V as that is the default for these processors.

thanks for clearing that up. I thought the table on the clunk guide is for 65nm processors as it's calculated based on 67% of the vtt?

if the gtl table on the clunk guide is not suitable for 65nm quads, how do i calculate it myself? do i also have to know the real vtt for that?

    thanks for the help Praz

SB and CPU PLL tied together AFAIK, so yes high CPU PLL can degrade your cpu i think

65nm cpus >1.7v would be dangerous for 24/7, so 45nm probably same if not less I'm guessing ? I always use default volts lowest volts for DFI and my Asus P35 boards.. maybe that's why my max FSB always low as no balls to shove more volts in ? :o LOL

I have bent a couple of CPU's using high pll, the first thing I noticed was instability at previously known good settings then the CPU could no longer hit the same high fsb followed by needing more voltage.

I have not hurt antyting yet with to much vtt but anandtech published something saying more than 1.45 killed some quads dig about on google 4 it if you want.

Tried loosening the ram to 5 5 5 15 still nothing 1:1 ratio so I went back to 4 4 4 12 at 1:1. Tried raising the tRFC to 52 from 36 still nothing....any ideas, maybe you've had this issue PRAZ.

Maybe the board doesn't like my 667mhz ram?
For anyone experiencing standby issues , change the ps/2 and usb jumpers to +5vsb position from the default factory settings on the mobo, problem solved.

The makers of Sandra would have you believe so. If asked they will tell you the board needs a BIOS update. However, if that's the case it's odd that only Sandra and some versions of SpeedFan have this issue and no other programs. A while back one version of CPU-Z did the same thing under Vista64. But in a day or so Franck had that fixed.

Now then, as the new and happy owner of this board...noticed that the optical S/PDIF jack is missing from the Bernstein audio module. there are only 2 coaxial RCA S/PDIF jacks. Now the question, how im supposed to use optical S/PDIF as there aint any jacks for it. oh yes there are the optical S/PDIF connector, but its kinda hard to put TOSLINK cable to 4 metal spikes...

yeah, i know. Should have read board specs one more time...

One of two options. Either build an interface to mate with the connector or us a toslink to coaxial adapter. A Tx or Rx module can be picked up for about $6.00. The Toshiba 173 series would be perfect. Or for $10.00 or so you could go with a optical to coaxial adapter and use the coaxial jack on the board. Probably the method I would choose.

    Hey, guys:

Which drivers are you using for RAID?
    Floppy? Default Vista?
Then, are you installing Intel RAID utility?

My RAID0 array keeps failing. First, my computer becomes unresponsive. When I reboot, I am told my RAID array failed and signals one of the HDDs. I believe it has signaled a different drive every time (could be wrong about this).
I would REALLY REALLY REALLY like to get a fix for this because it makes RAID impossible. I also get drive corruption when installing big games like CoH:Opposing fronts.

When I switch to IDE mode, I get 0 errors...
    Thanks in advance.

i used intel 8.2.0.1001 raid drivers and when i run hdtune it looked like this.

Its better than the last set of intel drivers i used v7801012 and i dont use the raid utility i just install the drivers with a floppy when installing xp. Also if your getting drive corruption you could have a faulty hdd so you need to run the check disk utility in windows to see if you get any errors and if you do i could be one of your hdd`s.
