Hmmm, I would rather be in XP64 than Vista64, but you mentioned a good point. Drivers. Anyways, no point on going 64 bits for now anyways.

    its dead because

    1) many are selling/getting rid of their boards

    2) some still testing it with not so good results so they are still trying to get there

Me, since I dont have corruptions, I cant provide any info, just wait for a fix for my video freezes

P05 bios officially solves corruption issues on reference boards

look like i was given correct advice yet again despite of some members' reservations

So0 is this corruption only certian males or models.
I just got a Evga 790i, is this a good board or should i sell it as
fast as possible, i still haven't taken off he factory heat shrink wrap because of all this
data coruption and my Evga 750i SLI has been doing great, with no problems.
I thought the eVGA 790I ULTRA SLI WAS AN UPGRADE NOT A GRAVESTONE!

Prior to 0704 I got fatal corruption 3 or 4 times when overclocking, had to do a complete restore from the VISTA util. I have not had any corruption since 0704, I even tried to run at 1880 which corrupted me previously... Vista wouldn't boot fully but I didn't get corrupt. Take it for what it's worth...maybe some but not all of the possible corruption issues have been addressed as it seem some people are still get it.

You know I think we all of had great results in the beginning, but over time the board just seems to get worse, and I for one have put endless hours into making it run right to no avail.. Also I think that there are greater issues that you probably wouldn't notice for instance:

I ran the board linked and synced (1770) no issues for a week or so tested everything Prime stable, mem test stable, sfc scan corruption free, and was very happy.. Then out of the blue I decideed to run sfc scan (I changed nothing) and I failed.. Went to the bios changed the NB 1 up no corruption for about 3 reboots then guess what corruption.. Everyone without exception has issues with this board wether it be freezing, corruption, can't play media player whatever no one in this thread is problem free..

I think that with the prevelant overclockers and incredible minds that scope these threads, not one of them can get this board working says the board has some undeniable deep rooted issues that are tragic and utterly dissapointing.. If you read the thread not one single person is problem free including some of the original few who thought they had it, like Tyke and Tekjunkie and myself.. Sooo back to the drawing board I hope they fix it but now it's getting out of hand and we are running out of time the new Intel chips are coming and Nvidia can't get the old stuff working.. Booo Nvidia Boo.. This will be the last thing I post on my 790i as it gets ripped out of my machine tomorrow and good riddens.. Good luck everyone I won't be chiming in anymore because I won't have this board I hope they fix the issue and you all come out clean without a refresh...

I second that, still striving for stability even when everything appears to be stable (Memtest, Prime95 etc.) The higher bus speeds still seem to give some instability with SLi for me, can't quite work it out! On a good note, the WD VelociRaptors are out in UK today, so here's to an even faster raid setup!

I have 0 corruption issues, bios 704 fixed it 100% for my setup.
I've been running 704 for a good week & the bios is a true test to Nvidia's & Asus commitment for stable operation on high end motherboards.

Anything upcoming from Nvidia or Asus only means higher & higher performance, it took sometime to fix alot of problems but truly we have to give credit were credit is do.
I was like other's fed up ect. wanted to rid this board & get something that worked stable.

It's amazing BSOD & Corruption issues you had & when it works you forget all the problems when system is rock solid.

First off, I would like to thank Asus & Nvidia for a great job on 790i chipset, I love it & it's truly 1 of a kind chip set.

Just to be specific, do you mean that this is your conclusion or that this is official on the change log?

Only reason i ask is some people around EVGA forums especially shot this bios down as a failure not long after it was released (of course that could be down to anything)

    cheers.

i was told by nvidia that this bios fixes corruption issues but i couldn't test as my first board was dead after last LN2 session

this replacement board with P05 bios loaded does not corrupt windows FOR ME any more..........

i also would suggest that ppl that are still having issues to use a new hard drive or a hard drive that has not been used on 790i just to double check the drive is ok as i've had at least one hard drive that was on 790i and which i can no longer install an OS on...........i have done a low level format on it yet but i found that very odd

evga forums has a lot of whingers
wonder how many of them really bothered to test it out

now i am not stupid to go trying to boot to windows at unstable settings.....i always run at least one loop of test#5 in memtest before going to windows

however with previous bios files if i did that even with semi stable settings i could corrupt windows...............i did attempt to boot at semi stable settings past 925MHz 7-7-7-20 1T with this RAM i have and i experienced no issues...........i used to experience corruptions when 32M SuperPi would crash occasionally....i've made it crash in last session a few times and no corruption problems....seemed pretty solid to me

there is not a single person here that has tested the P05 bios and confirmed corruption yet so i'm probably not alone here

    Raid Problems but no corruption

    Hi,

Even moving to P05, and not overclocking I keep having raid problems. Low level test of the drives does not show up any errors.

Uninstalled this morning the NVRAIDService and drivers since I was concerned it being the culprit. The error message now has changed into:

error: A parity error was detected on \Device\RaidPort1.
warning: Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort1, was issued.

    My drives are seagate 320GB
    the set up is:
    NVIDIA Striping 596.18G
    ST3320620AS

Already changed ports etc... The OS does not really crash, but just hangs.

Occassionally I have problems even at start up prior to loading the OS that it does not recognise the stripe. (RAID0). Already checked multiple time either all cables and so on.

    See two options:
    1. Recreate the stripe from scratch....and reinstall all again
    2. Exchange the disks and get some new ones.

Anyone come across these kind of raid problems?

    Help appreciated.

Sorry for asking this again, but I am not sure I got a clear answer.

So if sfc showed I had error prior to flashing to the BIOS P05, should I be reinstalling Windows now that I have the new BIOS?

I guess so... since you have corrupted windows files. Idk if running sfc again would be enough. I would reinstall it just in case and to be sure.

Before you jump the gun with SFC errors I will tell you this..I have run SFC scan and it has showed errors. I reboot run again same settings NOTHING changed at all it passes no errors. I would not trust the SFC check unless it repeatadly fails.

I have also seen sfc fail at and overclock setting..reboot at stock and it passes. WTF corrupt is corrupt no? Not so with SFC.

SFC saying files are corrupt is not what I call the "790i corruption issues" when you can't boot into windows because sys files are corrupt that's a problem that requires a restore from back-up.

    Ah good to know.

I have only run it three times, all with an OC, and it failed all three times.

The only reason I ask, is that my system only is unstable every once in a while. I just get the classic stuff listed in the OP about how some days it doesn't crash or hang. Some days it does it with 5 minutes. Some days it takes about 2 hours before the system seizes.

Some times the system BSOD's, sometimes it just locks up.

So I didn't know if the old corruption from previous BIOS is the culprit for this.

One crash I had a few days ago, was rather weird. It took 3 power cycles just to get past the POST, then it got to Windows and everything was normal again.

Changing the Raptors to Velociraptors got rid of all my freezing problems at 450FSB. I don't think Raptors like this chipset (or vice versa!).
