come on guys!hehehe
this motherboard is really impressive

nice looking waterblock camouflage, worry up with the machine we want results
Sav what memories do you have? i cant get 1T it simply dont post
finally put the gskill hz12800 and here they are first results:
default timings and vdim - 7-7-7-18 1,9v @ DDR-1800mhz
best stable so far - 8-7-7-18 2,04v @ DDR-2000mhz
like i said 1T is no go, need to make more tests and adjust better some settings\options.
so far very happy with this evolution![]()

Powered up the board first time this morning - but went only into BIOS, have to check later if I have to intall XP again or not.
Was a bit out of time, had to go to work and it took me a almost one hour to clean the CPU & the waterblock from the liquid metal stuff..... - this is really some hardcore thermal compound, but it makes best temps on CPU..
All went fine so far - first thing I noticed was that stock BIOS on my board was not 0201 - it was 0115- anyone ever heard of that version?
So I flashed to 0401 - EZ flash works fine.
If there's no need to make a new XP install I'll do some first tests tonite.

After waiting a long time for the BlackOps and getting pretty impatient, I finally handed in the towel and went with this board. Got machine back from rebuild and upgrade today and are now running the P5E64 WS Evolution and a QX9770. Running along nicely at 4.6 for now but will wait for new ram sticks (OCZ PC3-16000 2x2048MB 2000MHz) before any benching... An easy board to OC, no fancy stuff (which I hate anyway, e.g. ROG series) and seems rock solid.
Thx for posting this, even if you had pleasure doing it, thx![]()
DiKKeneK fan !!
arrghhh i want one of those![]()
to expensive the HZ is 100€ less, tonigh gonna try 1T stability again!
its the same bios that mine came, first thing to do was flashing to 0201 and a few hours later to 0401 as soon she appers on asus ftp.
good luck for the rest of the setup and waiting for some good screens
ca you post detailed setup for 4,6ghz? how much FSB so far? i´m thinking in getting a quadcore soon.
those OCZ are the cas 9 kit? show us some results when they arrive
regards

Haven't got around to play with FSB yet as I got my rig back just some hours ago and we had scheduled some gaming (BF2) tonight but currently running 400 at multi 11,5. Will test more later when new OCZ sticks arrive. Had to borrow a set of 2*1GB Kingston PC3-8500F (800 - 7-7-7-20) while waiting for the OCZ sticks (fried my CellShock 14400 after 6 months of 2,18v...) Do you want a detailed set up of the whole BIOS? Hope you can give me til tomorrow then but pretty standard set up with 1,48 Volt on CPU and 1,9 on RAM and most on AUTO... This board is very simple in most of its set up.
And yes, it is the 9-9-9-28 set hopefully coming soon.
i also have here a pair of ocz gold 8500HZ are much better
just wanna now how much this board goes with 45nm quadcore i´m thinking in buy one in the future, with dual core as everyone nows is much more easy to get higher mems clocks because of the high fsb they achieved.
thanks

With Gskill I believe is impossible to run at 1T
I had GMH for my Striker and didnt work as well as GTR for Striker II and no go with 1T
hi guy
do you have this problem with p5e64 ws evolution?
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=189507
Mine did 8 x 495 this morning
So far the only trouble I'm having is that setting multi above 9.5 gives a no post/bsod on load.
Upon reboot it says "CPU Core to Bus ratio or VID configuration error"
Tried disabling speedstep etc then reboot then manual oc, same thing.
Tried the same w/o reboot, same thing.
Tried entering all loose timings and plenty of voltage, same thing.
Tested on 0115, 0201 and 0401 so far..
Oh blah?
I'm getting the same error on my P5K dlx with the Qx after a cold boot... it has dissapeared a long time , yet it is back now...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
Hmm.. Gonna try playing around with it and see what happens, never had this on P5E3/P5K3 DX or P5E3 WS Pro..![]()
Oh blah?
Seems fixed now; reflashed 0401, went into bios and disabled speedstep only followed by reboot
Then back into bios, applied the usual 24/7 OC settings and booted without issues![]()

Oh blah?
Since this is a tips and tricks and OC thread for the P5E64 WS Evolution I would like to ask for some tricks since I have a hard time running mine at a FSB of 450 (so far keeping CPU multiplier at 7). I have tried various combinations of CPU and NB GTL, PPL, FSB termination voltage, NB and SB voltage. I keep the primary memory timings constant at 8-8-8-24 2N and DRAM voltage at 1.8 and the rest of the memory timings on Auto. I have not yet played with Clock over-charging voltage. I have not even managed to pass a 32M SuperPi run at FSB 450, MEM 1800. I'm asking for some suggestions to settings please.
The best (passing 15 loops of SPi 32M) settings were as follows:
CPU voltage: Auto
CPU GTL: Auto
PLL: 1.7
FSB TV: 1.5
DRAM: 1.8
NB: 1.61 (incresing NB voltage results in freezes)
NB GTL: Auto
SB: 1.2
clock O-C V: Auto
Load line cal: Auto
Besides that I'm struggeling to stabelize my CPU at 10x400, MEM 1600, 7-7-7-20 2N. At least I can pass a 32M SPi but not 1h OCCT yet. Working on it
Any help is very much appreciated, thanks.

A question related to CPU GTL Voltage Reference and NB GTL Voltage Reference for a QX9770. Any recommendations as to how to set these variables, apart from Auto that is?
