JackUp, does the unit come standard with the top (and maybe bottom) heatsink speaders? (the black ones). Or is that just standard on the GX2? I haven't opened mine so i'm not sure.
Thanks.
jAkUp: Can they be bought for the UK ?
Hmm, it looks that my polished EK WB performs a bit better ... of course with a different WC system though.
It is interesting that EVGA Precision shows exactly the same numbers as it was set in Riva Tuner 2.08, but Riva Tuner hardware monitoring shows different values ... except of the temp.
I have found one interesting thing - we have exactly the same difference in monitored values comparing to settled values in EVGA Precision, for me it looks like the same Riva Tuner with a different skin ... or how to explain such kind of a coincidence?

Is the copper WB better than nickel-plated or there is no difference?

We need an experiment to be sure. For me personally nickel creates another layer between the working cooling surface and a CPU, copper is second after silver regarding thermal conductivity (and is very close to silver at 231 vs 247), though nickel is 4 times less heat conductive at 52.4 only ... but such as a layer of nickel is very thin (it is only 4-10 micron), it shouldn't be a problem.

Finally I am pretty happy with EK WB, it needs some modifications (spacers) IMO, but the low restriction and temp results worth to use it.
I would like to bring my apologies to Eddy being so inpatient and take my words regarding unprofessional construction back. Well, it just needs to have those spacers, but performance wise (and a look for acrylic version) is above any expectations. Thanks!
P.S. As one can see I have added those copper MC14 mostly for a look, I had to replace the sticking surface (actually it should be called as "non-sticking") by thermal AKASA tape.

Thats amusing with the E as the pins :P

Would really appreciate some advice here as my temps on air are just too damn hot under extreme loads and the fan noise is also keeping my neighbors down the street up.![]()
I got the Ek and really like it. You can get it at Performance Pc's for $139 now.
I have it running at 800 core / 2000 shader / 2200 memory and it's idle temps are equal or within a degree of each other at 31C. Load is only a few degrees higher. My ambient temperatures are fairly cool as it's in my basement.
Blueaqua: Damn, that's too good a deal to pass up, went ahead and ordered myself one, thanks for the info. PS: Your setup looks pretty sweet.![]()
Blueaqua, I like how you cut out the factory card cover to make room for the waterblock and nozzles, looks like it was made that way from the factory.
Also - slightly off topic and not to thread jack, but how do you like your CPU block?
I'm running two VID-398GX2 on my koolance system and they almost cut temps in half over stock air coolers. Trubritar did a kick arse review of these blocks showing performance buffs as well as cooling temp at load running crisis you should check it out. I LOVE THESE THINGS.
