    E8500 and PALiT 9600GT "Vanillas" - 93K '01 and 21485 '06

    First the CPU

    is capable of -

So my E8400 died and this is its replacement, I am so happy!

The cards clocked well in stock form - 650 core - up to 750 core and 1000 mem (900 stock)... I felt I could do better and decided to preform a vmod on both cards (figured out by largon ) and settled on 1.3v for now getting to a stable 845/2112/1000 (no mem mod)...for cooling I switched to Accelero S1 Rev2 air coolers with standard 120mm fans.

now as far as cooling goes I use Dunieks 2 piece Aluminum pot with DICE and Acetone ... got like 25-30 lbs for just freaking $10 USD

    Specs
    E8500
Evga 790i Ultra (testing was on P04)
    PALiT 9600GTs "vanilla" in SLI
    OCZ Platinum 1600 7-7-7-20 running as close to 1000MHz as possible @ 8-7-7-24 2T
    dual Raptor 74GB (16MB) in RAID 0
    PC P&C 750 Crossfire Edition
    XP PRO

I will post some of the pics of my setup and provide ORB links here in a bit as I am swamped w/ things to be done ... not all were submitted as I didn't feel I had gotten to the best yet...

Please feel free to add any comments or tips that you would feel useful in my screenshots

    Thanks
    -Ryan

here are the e8500 SLI results w/ DICE (2nd time doing so)

    which gets me this-
Now running with the "big dogs" you think?

Have you installed everything that's needed for the benchmark? Windows media player updates, for instance.

Good benches, I hope you're still aiming at higher speeds

yeah - the replacement is being delivered tomorrow - though I am burnt out on testing...for now -I need a reliable system for daily use so the E8400 is going for that

with Dice - how much better temps will I get moving from the ALUMINUM pot to an atleast Copper bottom pot (alu/cu) or full Cu pot? as I need to bench GSOs next week andmay be up for one if it will at least help a bit --- I know it will but just want a bit of prodding to buy :P as I need GPU pots more

I WILL be re-benching these cards with the latest driver as I see it might be a loit better now as I lost the '01 #1 spot to a lower clocked E8500 and over 100MHz lower cards and all around lower clock I guess

hooled up the GTX 480 and everything (maze 5s ) and now the 9600GT (single right now) is at 901/2252/1000 rhthdrbl no prob at 33-34C and idle 28-29C this is at 1.45vcore no vmem mod (yet) so I am gonna swap out and tune the other card soon

    Check this - 950/2375/1000 and at load (rthdrbl) 36C - I LOVE LIFE !

Seems that OCP is a little above 1.6v will have to get a mod for that

I am currently running at 830 core on '01

Edit: back at 950/2375/1000 in '01

Impressive! Non-reference PCB with resistance based voltage mod? 1.45vgpu for that is impressive, wonder how high it'll scale with dry ice.
