Ahhh you have just bit the lions tail Sir (Miss? )

You see, Dear Mr Rammsteiner (Mrs? ), everything which doesn't make sense makes sense to Phenom, quite incredible don't you think

I just noticed though I ran this time with unganged where as, IIRC, I previously ran with ganged. Maybe Im an uber n00b and never caught that, but does ganged vs unganged has any effect on stability?
    Yes

The accuracy of the DMM in the range 0.4-4.0V is 1% + 2 Digits (0.002V) so the higher cpu-droop is more likely an error of measurement.

yeah finally i made it.. it also does at lower volts as in your screeny, but unpacking and installing ati drivers seemingly was not stable.. so this is truly no suicide run

i think it was the odt pin fine delay option (disabled now) and/or xp vs. vista 64bit..

now trying to go some 3d benching, but aquamark crashed last time.. i'll see..

    Thanks Tye,
My main goal is to find out if the nb voltage is really total independant from cpu speed and voltage.
Currently it looks like I require higher voltages with 70°C cpu temps than with 60°C. Also the nb starts to fuel the chip at 2.4GHz/1.4V, i get ~3°-4°C higher temps.

Nice, good to see the chip still works. With no chef looking over my shoulder, it's hard to cope with myself here, so may things waiting for reinvestigation.

So I tried previous settings which ran 9h+ and it randomly restarts or BSOD's... The restart makes no sense at all since Ive the auto reset OFF for when a BSOD occures. Also have the shutdown thing in BIOS off at xxC.

I just noticed though I ran this time with unganged where as, IIRC, I previously ran with ganged. Maybe Im an uber n00b and never caught that, but does ganged vs unganged has any effect on stability? At DDR800 mode it is.

Im really considering, how annoying it's starting to get, to throw it all out and plug everything on my DQ6 and see how that goes because this makes no sense.
I'd drop the cpu and nb multi and inspect how far ref HT goes. Then id try to reach 2.8GHz with an 13 or 13,5 cpu multi and an 9x nb multi via small ref HT increasements.

start with 3.6ghz and find what the lowest Voltage you can get it stable with and then work from there with 10mhz at a time I am really pretty sure that 1.5v + is not needed at all just be patient and keep in mind that the chip excels at lower voltage as you have seen already

Also I still think the best Bios for that Processor is 11/22/07

U use DDR and not DDR2 ram over there? 2.4V those GSkill's are normaly rated for 2.1V max.
However thank you for the comparison, seems the difference diminishes with higher voltage.
Congrats to your advance in 6400 overclocking.

    So it was YOU.

They were out when I RMA'ed. So they gave me a refund. Dang it. I wanted that board. Oh well. Perhaps if a new chipset is released with the SB750 and it turns out being PHENOMenal then I'll get one.

My Phenom RMA should get to Newegg tomorrow morning. If I'm really lucky they might get a new one into overnight UPS by tomorrow night. (Luckily I paid overnight when I bought it. They use the same method for shipping the replacement. I should have it by friday at the latest.)

Watch out, they usually die above 2.3v - I've had 3 kits of them. There's no point in feeding ProMOS kits that much voltage since they have an onboard regulator which won't allow more than ~ 2.25v to the MEM ICs and the rest will just get converted to heat

DFI ending M2R; well what do you expect. Every other individual runs to RMA at the tiniest problem or disaster they cause, and with very expensive, limited and very time taking projects like this, they're left no other choice. RMAs are very costly to the MFG
