Asus download page is down and I need to check the change logs for these particular OS to see if there is a fixed for the NVIDIA 9800 GX2 GPU non booting on the motherboard, if anybody has the BIOS I can download it would be much appreciated? Thanks in advance, optical10

Hello Optical.
Dont worry about this issue you comment. Ive had it too, and its too easy to fix.
Your grafic card is well, you only have to plug an hdmi cable, youre surely using dvi. If your monitor is not hdmi, buy an hdmi-dvi cable. I had the same problem when I cleared cmos. After doing it, the only way to see the bios was to plug an hdmi.
Oh, if anybody here is having corruption trouble, say it and will try to help. Ive got a stable system now.
And the error message of your lcd means you have cleared your cmos...

2 days later ... I've succeed in make this board work ... and it works well
I've bench all the afternoon at 500 FSB with minimal chipset's voltage (between 1.4 and 1.5 ... depend from the frequency, from 4 to 4,75 Ghz)
Great board so far![]()

Justfire any luck breaking 4500 yet? Looks like you were pretty close in some of the older bios versions.
Seems like my processor doesnt like 4500 and anything above fsb 490
Am still testing tough
Core 4 is the bad one, when prime stops on core 4 , the other 3 can run for hours.
Well, one core has to be the weakest link.
Am working on my memory speeds now, have 4 GB ocz xtc platinum 1600 wich wont boot at 1600mhz but runs fine on 1800mhz.
Still a lot to learn, and will report back when i got some better results.

I 2 have this problem with everest.
Bios: 45 C
Everest:
CPU: 45 C
CORE1: 34 C
CORE2: 34 C
CORE3: 28 C
CORE4: 28 C
CORETEMP:
CORE1: 32 C
CORE2: 32 C
CORE3: 27 C
CORE4: 27 C
CPU (Q6600) currently running @ 3.6 GHZ, Vcore: 1.40462 (bios), 1.46 (windows) V.
Any idea why cpu temp is much higher than the core's? could the bios reading be wrong![]()
To the people who have tried 0601, is the board still overvolting with this 0601?? Thanks.
Guys,
what bios to use for a nice and stable OC? Nothing extreme, just needs to be fast & reliable.
Any hints performance-wise? 1T possible with 2x2GB sticks? Thanks!
0511 is nice if you dont look for anything extreme.
Gonna try 0601 now, hope it bring some performance on the high fsb front and remove some holes.
edit : 0601 has a lot of fsb holes !!
Cant run any higher than fsb 450 with this bios, gonna give 0512 a try now and else it's back to 0511 for me.
edit 2 : flashed to 0512 and can run above 450 again, I advice to stay away from 0601

My initial impression of 0601 was very good. Several fsb holes have been filled or made smaller, and low multi/high fsb clocks seemed much easier to achieve and were even prime stable.
But upon further review, I noticed instability issues in games as well as Flight Simulator (which I don't consider a game) in the form of freezes and reboots.
This really seemed like a forceware issue, so I re-installed drivers, tried different drivers to no avail.
Since this was not an issue with 0511, I flashed back to 0511 and all's good.
So the fsb holes have been improved in 0601, and low multi/high fsb clocks are easier to achieve, but apparent instabilities arise. This is in spite of verifying the 0601 oc's with prime, memtest, orthos, you name it.
Edit::
Low and behold. Just after writing this, 0601 appears on their ftp site...
I'm surprised that I can achieve benchmark stability and still see issues in games/simulators..
So I'm back on 0511 for now, holes and all, but at least it's stable. 0601 shows some activity and improvement on Asus's part which is encouraging and should be expected after dropping $469 us for a motherboard!!!
Hopefully the next release will get it all right, (how many times have we said this before).

0511 bios...

Right'o.
0601 fixed the tCL 5 bug.
BIOS v0601 seems good.
Haven't done any serious work, just fooling around for a while ( 30 mins or so ), but it feels way better than the other releases.
Here's a low Everest

Dang, just noticed that the bloody bast*rd...erm the bloody BIOS 0601 features the "Ignore user set tRFC" bug
I'm sure I can get the bandwidth to 14.5k without changing my clocks a lot.
Hmm with 0507 my 4x2GB config worked (2:1 800 MHz 7-6-6-20-2T)... with 0601 it won't POST with this settings.
What's interesting - that difference between and - 0601 working 2:1 800 MHz 9-9-9-24-2T) is just around 300 MB/s on r/w + minor latency change. Not a lot.
However, or my sticks do not like 1T or high density chips have problems with 1T in general (don't have any other 2GB modules @home to test). It do POST, OS loads as well, but it's quite unusableVNB=1.50 didn't made any difference.

pmp, for the 4x2GB config, the cause is ( more than likely ) bad tRFC setting by the BIOS ( auto isn't good enough for 8GB "kits" most of the time ) and it also ignores your setting.
Oh you said 0611, not 0601.
Hope they fixed the tRFC in 0611.
OFC. no problems at all @TriSLI setup :-)
I'll try to go back for a while for 0507 and see what tRFC is being set @Auto, and what's tRFC is set @Auto@0601 in a while.
Ofc i meant 0601 - just a mistype (0611).
-- EDIT:
I think for 0601 tRFC setting is working. At least for me. I set 100. I get 100, etc.

I thought 0601 was ok, but now I'm getting random restarts and freezing in world of warcraft. I'm 24 hour prime stable at 4ghz but the random restarts are getting anoying. I had to bring it all the way back down to 1333 fsb for the restarts to go away. I was prime stable at 1800 linked too. Kinda dissapointed so far, but I know I still have a lot to learn about this board.
