thats the picture on the main page
the NB is just with that large heatsink with the fan clip

Can't wait to see your clocks. I just ordered the same cpu. I will be putting it on the P35 version of your board.

I'd like to see how is going to handle a quad.
I dont believe it's going to have any difference than the x38

    Good luck, man

Of course, I wish you luck because I hope some of that luck will rub off on my chip

hey mushkin hq informed me that they wont be producing the redlines 4gb version for the time being as micron is having some issue with supplying them their chipsets..

so u must have gotten it from a retailer with ready stocks.

Looking good...I'm very happy right now with my E8400 which is doing 4.2ghz 24/7 with a pretty low 1.35 vcore and 1.28 vtt. Hopefully the X48 can do similar...I just hope my Dominator 4gb kit works ok with this board.

Thanks Ace76.This cpu has done 4.6+ prime stable for hours,on a p35.Boot into windows at 9x575FSB.Either i have not found the right settings yet or im at the limits of this board with my combo.1:1(333/667) ratio on ram is tough with this board.Runs best for me at 5:6(333/800).My ram is "only good " for 12xxMHz or so.

Put way to much voltage everywhere to make the screen shot happen.Got frustraded and thru the kitchen sink at it.It stuck. Will play some more latter tonight and work on voltages.Looking forward to your results and others.Mine is a work in progress.Maybe more time will help.

Have you messed around with the GTL settings? I know that helped me a lot when I was tweaking my DFI P35 UT...once you find the right number, you should be able to lower your vcore and vtt and still have same or higher clocks. I'm sure newer BIOS revisions will help too.

The northbridge heatsink has a spot for a fan on it but there was not one that came with the board. Any recommendations on what type of fan i should put on it?

Tryed a little on gtl.Default is 110(e8400).Tryed 108-112.Also NB gtl.I had the ut p35.This appears to be a little different. I dont mind sharing my journey through bliss.Hope it helps someone down the line.

NB fan appears 60mm would mount with clips.,i have a 80mm resting on NB.Need to install MCW30 soon.Although temps are not a issue.

Great to hear seraphi.Welcome aboard .

Got mine running anyway, coupla quick questions tho; you say 108/112 I would guess that is 1st and 2nd Cpu GTL's correct? What about the NB GTL?

Reason I ask, is that my GTL's were very limited on the board in my sig, highest was 67 and I had this setup at whats in my sig, 24/7 but seem to have hit a wall at 480ish right now. Tried higher NB volts, and higher CPU volts, not the add on, just direct, I have VDoop Enabled so far, and my VTT is still at 1.1v. Running Orthos Blend as I type with no probs, but will not boot at 485. Gotta be something I am missing, will check TRFC now.

Has anyone heard anything about the T3R version (DDR3 version of same board)? DFI websites lists it but there is no picture and no retailers seem to have it? Just curious because I've yet to see any DDR3 DFI boards anywhere, even in the forums?

    Larry,

Do not guarantee this is prime stable. Can say super 1m.

I tryed all three gtl settings.I tryed from 108 to 112 on each of the bios settings referring to gtl.RGone at DFI Club has this board now.I'm sure he will shed some light on this in the upcoming days.

Going up to 470fsb takes little voltage changes,in fact most settings can be left in auto(dual core).470-500FSB was a moderate bump in cpu vtt,NBv and SBv core.Over 510FSB is taking what i consider alot of volts to get the job done.

Here is what i ran for 8x501.E8400.Your mmv.
    Cpu vid 1.275v
    Vid special Auto
Ram 2.1v for me may differ for your make/model.
    SB core 1.64v
    NB Core 1.405v
    Cpu vtt 1.2v
    Vcore drop enable
    Clock gen 3.45
    Gtl buffer strong
    GTl ref disabled
    Boot up buc Auto
    Dram 333/667 1:1
    5-5-5-15-42
    Enhanced data tranfer: Fast
    Rest of ram settings auto.

    Roger,i hear april'ish for the X48 DDR3 version.Need to make a bios template.

Thank You Looks like your vtt and SB are higher than mine, other than that, same as here. I'm running the X48 as well and with my E3110. Wierd thing is that SG dosn't show the NB volts higher when I raise them. I did nudge the vtt up just a tad as in SG running 10kfft and or Blend the vtt would flex from 1.1v to 1.08v, now it is a steady 1.1v in SG. I am now using Setfsb and am at 485, just want to check it in windows, as 485 was a no boot for me before which I find odd.

Another odd thing is that on my board in the sig, I ran my GTL's as 63/63/67 and it was happy as a kid in a candy store/shrug, new board/new settings. Thanks again and I'll update if I can get this thing to boot higher.

    Welcome guys.

Have booted into windows from default bios settings straight to 520FSB.Then i use set FSB.SG is in the ballbark for me on NBv.

New board.New challange.Would be boring if it was same old same old.

Good read, hope it is updated for this board.I think Praz was invovled with it.

I have that article downloaded I am going the opposite way with my GTL's. I have them at 72/73/72 right now. Boots either way at 485fsb, raised the NB a bit and have the CPU volts at 1.275v which is just a tad up. VTT is 1.109v and havn't touched the PLL yet. Old board defaulted to 1.55v on the PLL, this 1 jumps from 1.51v to 1.640v, kinda high there if I was going 1.640v as I heard the highest recomended for 24/7 was 1.15v.

I have read up on GTL's alot, and read that the GTL tables that are on that site are for 65nm chips, and that the percentage for 45nm chips is closer to 63%. I have it at 65% of what my VTT is set to and will see if she stays stable.

Another little tidbit is that on my old board in my sig, Everest stated Performance level when set to Auto was "8" this board set it to "9", of which I changed in bios settings. I am bound and determined to get my 24/7 clock back with this board and hopefully with lower volts. I had 1.34v Load for my cpu on the old 1 at 4300, I would think this 1 would do it too.

63% is the target reference for 45nm processors. Confirmed good GTLREF vs VTT settings in the X38 thread is going to be real close for this board.

See now Praz, I saw you wrote that Thank You. I am using the 65% right now and doing ok, got it to 8.5x490 now, she wanted more NB voltage with the 2x2gb sticks, about the same as my other board. So far, it clocks very close to the DK P35 T2RS. Maybe with a tad less voltage to.

OK, Got it back up to 8.5x500, Passes 10kfft's for a quick 5 minute run so far at 1.344v/1.32v Load. Same as my old board. GTL's set to 70/69/70 with VTT set to 1.109v.

Interesting part that I am sure a bios update will cure is that the board Over volts the CPU voltage by .032v, and Under volts the ram by .06v and Under volts the NB by .026v. These are not taken with a Meter, but do sorta coincide with my old settings on the P35 that were known good. Just thought I would throw that out there and will be testing overnight for a check on stability.

I have to say 1 thing tho, with the Enzotech WB on the NB, I have not seen my temp over 19C while running Orthos yet. Thats with water at about 52f in the rez tho. Great board so far!
