So with BestBuy having the $50 LianLi RocketFish cases I had to pick one, (then 4 more) up. Great cases, and with some thought can be phased or watercooled or both!
So after creating what i call a "V1000" panel and painting that with a few layers of prime, paint, and clear coat, I installed a phase unit and charged it up. Holds sub -10C with high loads.


RocketPhase anyone?

Wow! you made that sheet separating the lower and upper parts of the case? How long did that take! what degree are the bends?

About an hour or so, paint was an hour or two more. Bends are about 30 degrees.

Refrigerant? There is no space for using a bigger PSU....
Also the heat from the SS has to get removed from the PSU... not so good for it.

There's a fan grill going on the side for heat exhaust, holds up to 250W quite easily. Refrigerant for that was r507a, however working with a new gas for these. Next revision will have even more space, a good 3.5" more

I'm still saying separate the PSU and compressor/condenser with a divider and have the PSU intake from the mobo compartment and the phase unit exhaust from the sides. Don't know of many PSUs that like an intake temp of 40C Great build though for the space available.

Phase unit is exhausting out the sides, but no way to do something else with the PSU basically; however there is a vent BELOW the psu, so a psu with a fan will get its fresh air supply

Get a cold ice delux condenser, much small and better than them nasty blue things, i think you might really have something then with it!

Answered ya own question there, sorry! I don't agree with what the man has done, i've seen a guy here in the UK loses everything due to the money Reg ow's him. Also the condernser is but uggly. Cold_Ice's unit is small, thin, rifle tubing, 500W+ think, can be used with a 25m thick std 120mm pc fan, would do much better in there, maybe give some better loaded temps. Need i go on?

The TF3F works like a charm. I built a unit with I believe it was 8' of 0.031", a pure propane charge, and an identical condenser. It held a pretty decent load, I think it was 4.2GHz 4-cores loaded 1.45v on the QX9650 around 5C. While those same clocks can easily be done on air, it was meant for an E8400 and with 2 cores loaded and 2 idling it would hold very nicely around -15C or so. The best part was the compression ratio, 15psi suction 130psi discharge while loaded, compressor was as happy as a pig in mud I have another TF3F in the garage but I won't be building another one of those unless a friend begs me for it.

You can easily fit a standard ATX PSU with more than enough juice to run 2 cards and a quad. My OCZ 700w GameXStream would fit perfectly and it's got enough juice to satisfy anyone but Hipro or Kingpin

My CM850 wouldn't fit in that space most PSUs over 700w are longer, and the people that buy phase generally have a pretty nice PC already.

Not trying to bag on this just saying, an inch or two would really help a lot of people out... even if you can get a PSU to fit in there, if it's not modular good luck with cable management.

I JUST built in this case, and I put my rad where his phase unit is... and wiring was hard enough. Can't imagine trying it with this in the way (not that it wouldn't be worth it for phase in such a relatively small case).

I'll take some more pics, Philly Boy reviewed the same thing a little bit ago. My last one with r507a and 8ft of captube ran a bit different compression ratio, more towards 225:50. Trying a low pressure blend now with similar results.
The blue condensers are okay, just waste alot of space.
