Off topic, but for someone who's used a G5, how does the Deathadder compare? I use about 8 grams of extra weight in the mouse.
E7200 @ 3.4 ; 7870 GHz 2 GB
Intel's atom is a terrible chip.
MXR is waaaay too heavy for gaming imho
u talking about the G5 weights? I had G5 v1 & v2, never used any weights, nor do i use any of the weights in my G9 - i said to myself "y the hell would I wanna shift *more* weight, use *more* energy etc etc- i'm a lazy bastard! "

I have one of those lying around here.. somewhere.. its not bad. careful tho, if u have a fetish for leather, u might find one hand on ur keyboard & the other NOT on ur mouse!j/m

LOL There are so many inaccuracies in your post it is not even funny.
First, You don't get wrist strain from moving the mouse a freaking 2 inches. Why do you think most "pro" gamers use mousepads that are any where from 11 inches wide to the amazing 17 inches wide. Because THEY WORK. You get more accuracy and better control the slower your mouse is. You don't need the 4000 dpi NEW G9. I am using a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical at 400 dpi and when I had my Deathadder I was using 450 DPI. Most pros use 400-800 DPI for a REASON.
Second, I have a G15 and I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER used the Macro keys. Even playing WoW it was simpler to press 5 2 3 1 1 1 5 4 2 3 3 then have a macro that I could never stop. There is no reason to use more than maybe 5 macros.
Third, you say that for maximum accuracy to enable Enhanced Pointer Precision. That means you are turning on mouse acceleration which makes your sensitivity vary based on the speed of the mouse. This hurts accuracy not improves it.

any reason to believe the OP is a 'pro' gamer?
i always thought they had big mouse pads was not cause of the constant large distances covered, but those quick erratic wrist flicks they do in FPS (180, shoot, 180)![]()
theres a new G9 with more DPI!?- i 'need' the extra DPI. u might be happy @ 400-450DPI, but lemme ask u, do u have to transverse 4x 21" CRTs? no? I do, & doing so is a
@ low DPI
i've never heard what DPI 'pro' gamers run around on tbh, but if u could provide a link that would be super
so what if *u* never used the macros - plenty ppl do. plus macros arent the be all, end all to those g-keys; as bhavv mentioned, the g-keys can become *anything* u want (almost) shortcuts, passwords, usernames etc etc etc.
once again, totally subjective - if it hurts *ur* accuracy, tough bikkies, others like it/ want it/ need it
@ OP: i used to run around max DPI in software *&* max DPI on my G9 (hardware) - subjectively, i found this too fast for me, the mouse was jittery. I found the sweet spot to be: max hardware DPI (3200DPI on G9 i have) & 5/10 - 6/10 on software DPI scale. i found that maxing the software DPI was the main culprit for jitteriness. With these settings, all I have to do is adjust the hardware level DPI on the mouse, depending on what game i'm playing or what i'm doing. I use lower hardware DPI for very fast FPS games like Q3A, & higher ones for slower FPS (GRAW & FC). & I hate mouse acceleration, so i dont use it![]()

Razer tech support is very bad, and I highly recommend staying away from their products at all costs. Logitech mice are just as good, if not better, and they are much more reliable.
Airfall - Music and gaming
I love the RAzer Diamondback 3G.
Logitech G11 / 15 [ old ] the new version with orange ambient led sucks deep and hard.
Razer Lachesis .. holds great is great for work and gaming and looks sexi
I'm using it on a Steel Series Black steelpad with SS Surfers and it's a heaven walk working with it [ Phothoshop , 3DSMAX ] and gaming.

Really, you can get all of the recommendations in the world but what it comes down to is actually trying the mice yourself. Go into your local computer store can see which one of the recommendations feels the nicest in your hands.

i cant think of a store over here that has that kinda set-up opportunity- all the mice i've ever bought, i've had to go by reviews & recommendations like the ones in this thread - it makes buying a mouse a wee bit exciting

NetPlus used to do it, before people complained about having sticky residue left on the mouse. Fortunately, most mice I've bought have come in conforming packaging, allowing you to feel the shape of the mouse through it.

that is sooooo gay - cant ppl use theiring brain - have the mouse testing table, & provide a box of baby wipes, everyone with common decency will use one before testing.. & every so often (depending on amount of testing) a store employee can wipe down the mice, sheeesh *lame*

they should just buy *one* mouse (of each type/model, ie 1 G5, 1 G7, 1 G9...) then have that as the demo mouse - so everyone only ever tests *that* mouse.. when the mouse becomes EOL, throw it out & claim it on tax!(dam i'm getting good at this, should start my own business lol)
