That's actually not a Wolfdale. Newegg has it mislabeled. It's a 1600MHz Harpertown.

    Wow, that's a bad mislabel.
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

Yes, Wolfdales are LGA775 dual-core Penryn-based chips. Harpertowns are the LGA771 server CPU's.

Okay, my eyes are failing me. At first I thought it said "X5472". This is the 1600MHz Wolfdale that I read about awhile back. It's still socket 771, however.

Just had a thought.. The complaint has always been that 8 cores are overpowering the FSB on the dual socket boards.
I wonder if 2 of these might actually make for a better gamer on a ST board.
    Thoughts?

they're all the same chip, just in how they socket them. Intel only makes 2 chips. Penryn 6mb and Wolfdale 3mb. hehe

The 5400 chipset has a dual independent bus and better bandwidth than the 5000X. The problem is the price. Two 1600MHz Wolfdales are going to cost over $2000. That's a lot to pay for four cores.

Most likely has integrated graphics which for server purposes is about all you need. It's not meant for gaming. If you've ever seen the specs for HP's expensive ProLiant servers, they usually have ATI 32MB integrated graphics. Woo hoo!

Yes, and I see the VGA port on the I/Opanel,I just like a vid card myself.
It's that it gives you options and uses none of the system memory to run the graphics..
Of course if that board and chips showed up at my door I wouldn't complain..
