Nothing special, just an E2160 @ 3GHz.
Didn't notice any difference in Crysis between 3GHz and 3.5GHz, so I left it at 3GHz.
Besides, idle/load was 32/56 with 1.6volts @ 3.5GHz.
Now I'm 13/36 @ 3GHz, so I can't complain (I have a duct from cold outside winter air to the intake of my case).

Very happy with this £30 chip

I want to get a bit higher, but this is the max my BIOS will boot with, and clock gen wont work for me, are there any other window overcl programs?

I have a e2180 M0 stepping. I took the heatspreader off which resulted in almost 20c drop in temeratures at full load.

max stable fsb=425
max fsb 440
max stable oc = 400x9=3600 @1.55v
max oc 3.8 @1.7v need water or better

superPi 16.5sec with mem @ 960 5-4-5-14 performance level 7

With a big typhoon I see 80c at load. Before the removal of the heatspreader with is not soldered on these chips I would see 85lc load temp with 1.475v and only 3475mhz

I lowerd my temps about 5-10 degres at load.

Good luck

I did it exactly like fng77 but the drop in my load temps was a lot bigger then that, the top of the cpu is flat so you dont have to worry about cutting anything with the blade off and the core is deep in the centre of the square. I even used the same blade.

I pondered getting a thermalright 120UEx to drop the temps but this did a much better job and now I know what this chip can do on air. Just take your time and dont cut yourself

->MY RESULTS HERE <-

E2160 1,8@3,2GHz, 1.296V, 400x8

Can't go higher then that, I think my mobo is at fault here... But the chip consumes A LOT of voltage if I want to take it any further. Oh well, for the time being I'm happy with that.

To finally see what promises it powerfull E2140 that I test in this moment (3641Mhz, stock + 127.59%, stable OCCT+1H on Air with 1.44v of Vcore) and now i have the pretty ^^ P5K Premium Black Pearl Edition (I have also Dfi P35 LP DK T2RS, but its BIOS too young compared with the powerful BIOS of Asus and of best of Asus P35, the P5K Premium, and especially it is unstable and currently refuses booter with E2140 even whith very small little OC, it is much more perf with E6850, strange ???), I thus have passed 3H of bench SuperPi 1M this afternoon
Before having repaired his big point pb (the only big pb ^^) : i do Vmod of Vcore, it's Vcore limited to 1.70V under the BIOS and its damage to exploit it when one has an extreme cooling (SS 1 cp rotary 8000 BTU)

So...

4th world score SuperPi 1M of E2140 (Hwbot) 15.484s for this moment ^^
http://www.hwbot.org/searchResults.d...inTotalPoints=

this E2140 waiting now my new cascade 2 stages and Ln2 that I can still push frequency CPU and I think sure ^^, go up on the podium and peraps a little bit better , "wait and see"

You are using the same mobo as I?
msi p35 neo2-fr?
Try setting the h/w jumpers to 333mhz.
See whether you proc can do 333x9 @ default.
Good luck. ")

For the guys that pop'ed the IHS...what sort of max stable (orthos) OC improvement have you guys seen post-IHS removal? I know the gf's 2180 is begging to be IHS-less, but I'd like to see some more speed beyond 3.2 on that 2180 other than better temps.

I want to post my own results of max OC with this little 95U$S (in Argentina) monster.I used 1.55v to make it.

Pentium E2160 @ 3807mhz / Batch: Q711A555
Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme (stock thermal paste) + Silverstone FM121
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P Rev 1.0 (F6)
2x1GB Supertalent 667 @ 1014 C5
Gigabyte 7300GT
Seagate 320GB Sata2
Powercooler 500w

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=248912

16.063 result in SuperPI 1MB @ 3780mhz ->

I really want to raise to 4GHZ! I lapped the TRUE, IHS removal is a fact in the next month and MX-2 will help... but I have to wait the winter in my country (in this moment 30º in my room)

Around: 3430 Mhz orthos stable with ihs

3600 Mhz orthos stable (400*9) without ihs, but not more. 405*9 =crash. Probobly FSB wall there.

Could also lower the OC volts with 2 notches after I removed the IHS.

The funny thing is that before I had a pretty decent watercooling system, Tripple Rad, 6 fans and so on but I still couldnt get a stable 3,6 ghz.

Now I´m on air (zigmatek). So I can recommend the "IHS-Removal"

My E2160 seems to go around 3,4 Ghz with 1,5xx V. Cooler is ASUS Silent Knight (with sanded bottom). Currently max. speed & voltage testing are in ongoing process, but limit is near - max. temp. is ~70 C when two Prime95 are running.

Still not ~8 hours Prime95 stable (1,504 V at least), 3DMark06 seems to work fine. Processor ID is SLA8Z. FSB wall must be somewhere between 381..390 Mhz, but as I read from some forum rising NB/VTT voltage may increase max. FSB!? Currently it is 1,27 (+0,03 V over def.). Motherboard is ASUS P5K Pro.

Running on Intel now ... still I favor ASUS
