Unhappy XP wont boot/install with my new HD3870X2

    Hello guys,

i got my new Saphire HD3870X2 this morning.
I removed the Nvidia Drivers, shut down my PC, replaced my old with my new GPU, booted --> XP froze at the login screen.
Booted my Test XP on my Test HDD and it was the same thing.
Installed Vista on my Test HDD --> Everything works perfectly.
I wanted to reinstall XP on my Raid0, but it gives me no chance.
It freezes everytime you have have the choice to press "Enter" for installation, "R" for recovery or "F3" to abort the setup.

I don't know what to do, does anyone have an idea?

Edit: I just have tested Vista CE which works, but UltimateBootCDforWindows gives me a freeze as soon the Windows GUI appears :-(

are you using sata optical drive?

also do you have the intel raid drivers on a floppy? and you hit F6 during startup etc?

just checking. I've had problems installing from my sata drive before so I swapped to IDE optical and everything worked..Once Installed i was able to swap back to sata and it was fine.

I have finally solved this problem!

It was one option in the BIOS:
Advanced -> Chipset -> North Bridge -> PEG Link Mode.
This was set to "Faster", now it's on "Auto" and everything works fine.
It has taken 7 hours to find this ;D

lol! that was going to be my next suggestion. Peg link. I hate that stupid option.
Glad to see you got it going. I'll have my x2 tonight.
