being able to save the "Default" uguru settings such as fan control, what you want displayed, etc.. to like a profile file. One Click profile load. that way when an OC goes bad you don't have to reset everything. I'm sick of going to lan party every friday and having to set my oc and fan control there, then coming home and doing it again!

in the IP35 Pro bios, you have the capability to save overclock profiles within the bios by using F6 key and then, recover them using the F7 key...you mean that you do not have that capability on this board, in the bios?

You can save profiles in the ix38... and it's been useful a few times, since the bios tends to reset once in a while when working with the board.

Anyhow, I'm having issues with my 3ware 9650SE-4LPML card in the 3rd PCIe x16 (x4 reality) slot.

For some reason, the max bandwidth I am getting at any configuration is 150MB/s. When I test the drives as JBOD, they work normally on their own. I don't know if it's the PCIe lane itself that's limiting the card to go beyond 150MB/s or my card is defective.

I've tried at both stock and overclocked speed, and on both Vista x64 and Windows XP 32bit. Same issue. Tried different drivers from 9.4 to 9.5

Has anyone else been running a raid card successfully on their ix38 at getting it past 150MB/s?

    My System:

    Q6600 @ 3.52ghz
    Abit IX38 Board
    4x2gigs of Gskill DDR2 800mhz ram (8 total).
Quadro FX 5500 in PCIe x16 Slot 1
    Geforce 8800GT in PCIe x16 Slot 2
    3Ware 9650SE-4LPML in PCIe x16 Slot 3
Adaptec Scsi Card 39160 in PCI Slot 2

    Nothing attached to Jmicron controller
Maxtor 250gig, 200gig, and Pioneer DVD plugged into the Intel Controller
    4x Samsung F1 HD103UJ 1TB drives to the 3Ware Card
HP Ultrium 960 Tape Drive to Scsi card.

What I am going to do, is pull out the 8800GT, and try the 3ware on the in the 2nd PCIe x16 slot. I believe that's controlled by the Northbridge.

    *Update*

Okay, I tried a few different configs, The 3ware only works properly on the 3rd PCIe slot. It wouldn't get detected on the 2nd slot with the Quadro on the first slot. Then I tried the Quadro on the 2nd slot with the 3ware on the 1st Slot, and the computer wouldn't boot up properly, even after resetting the bios

I'm going to just setup up a JBOD with all the drives, and see how the windows software raid in disk management handles it.

hmm well thats funny, my F6 profile save feature doesn't seem to work. well atleast for the OC settings..
lol How could anyone recommend this board to someone with limited PC knowledge when the bios likes to reset everytime the power is unplugged. Specially if you had it slightly OC'ed for them like most high end companies do.

Don't get me wrong this is a great board but still.. And how long is it going to take to get the next beta bios out? I guess they feel 12.09 was their best shot LMAO.

Once all the major brands release their x48 boards, i'm going shopping.

Sadly I've noticed the same... the presets seem to work in an ackward way...

And here is something fantastic I found! the reason the BIOS decides to reset it self all the sudden? its uguru.... each time I use uguru and reboot the bios resets even tho I only use uguru to monitor voltages and temps, as long as uguru is not used I can reboot hundred times and its stable.

I've 100% confirmed it by rebooting, loading and rebooting again and got a perfect match between bios resets and uguru.

Using BIOS 12 final and uguru 3.1.7 (latest)

I'm using that memory, 4 x 1Gb actually. I had a little trouble When I tried to boot for the Very first time but i dropped down to 1 stick then went in to the bios and set my settings to factory 4-4-3-5 @ 2.1V

since then i've flashed the bios numorous times, reset the board a ton of times, and it resets it self every time i go to and from lan party. I've had no problems with it at all. currently running all 4Gb at 5-5-4-5 1002mhz with 2.15v. I've been playing around with find stability with best performance. my best friend runs the same ram too. we did the exact same thing with his. 1 stick then the rest. Let it set the rest with auto just put in the factory first four settings of 4-4-3-5. Also you could see what strap your running in the OC section.

after i came home from gaming at my buddies the thing booted just fine and had my OC settings stored... so its like random if it will use them or not.

After coming home another time i had a USB code freeze a boot up (with of course reset OC settings) so I just hit the reset button and guess what it booted up with my older OC settings! But again froze on the USB code. Unplugged the USB keyboard i had and rebooted. It booted up just fine but with the factory OC settings again SO somewhere the dumb thing is keeping my settings but just like a failed OC it automatically boots with the factory clocks.

Like i said if they would add a profile saving feature to Uguru (with Ram timings added too) it would be simple to fix because the other settings in the bios are being saved just not the custom clocks. Well jig rig i guess, they could just write a good bios huh.

Hi Adrunodro, to the forum , code 90 is a usb issue. Try unplugging your usb flash drive if you have one.

Hi @ all! First I'd like to say that XS is definetly the best oc-forum! I'm glad to be a part of it now You are so crazy, thats impressive

This IX38 is quite good. I'm running an E2160@3ghz@1.34v. But I have problems using other dividers than 1:1,5. All other dividers let the system crash when Windows starts. Currently I'm running Bios 12.B09. Memory is a pair of HyperX PC2-8500@2,2V..

I would like to try other Dividers to determine the max clock of my memory sticks, but I hit a wall at 350 with this crappy cpu.. Hope Abit fix this with next Bios..

    greetings pl4cid

I posted this at a other forum too but just in case someone here has a clue about my problem:

Hey guys! I recently bought a new setup and it is as follows:

    E8400
    Abit IX38 QuadGT
    Gskill 2x2GB PC2 8000
    3870 Crossfire
    600W Cooltek PSU

    Vista64 Ultimate

I am currently running my E8400 stable at 9*450 with CPU VID set at 1.3375. I've been aiming towards 500 FSB though
like 8*500 for example. The problem is that when I try to set my mch to 1.40 or above from Uguru the computer just
freezes, I tried setting it from bios to but if I remember correctly I couldn't get it to boot with the new mch value.

I am using these voltages currently:

    CPU VID 1.3375
    CPU VTT 1.25
    MCH 1.28
    ICH 1.10
    DDR2 2.050
    Rest default

    So my questions are:

Do I need to change any other voltages/settings to achieve 500 FSB?
What should these voltages/settings be at?
And any idea what might be the cause of freezing when setting mch above 1.40?

Bios I'm using is the newest one, ID 12.System cooled with water and a 120mm fan blowing at NB/Memory @ 8v.

Except from mch above 1.41+ @ 1:1 divider you do not need other voltages.
VTT can be as low as you could set in bios (default for E8400 is 1.1)

Bios 12.B09 and 12 "final" (they are in fact the same) have proven crappy for some users, including me. I'd try 12.B08 which seems the best for most people.

if you are referring to Uguru in windows desktop saving your settings, there is a check mark box in the "General" section that has to be checked to save your settings upon re-start.

Well I tried it now again and it didn't freeze now so thats good. I guess it was the active cooling at NB that made the trick, dont know for sure. Seems stable now with the settings:

    8*500

    CPU VID 1.3375
    CPU VTT 1.27
    MCH 1.45
    ICH 1.12

    Hello

Can anyone help me to set up the voltages in bios? i have right now stable 24/7:
    CPU: Q6600@3600Mhz 9X400

    CPU VID - 1.4250 V
    CPU Offset - 0.010 V
    CPU Target Voltage - 1.4350 V
    DDR2 - 2.30 V (960mhzz 5.5.5.15)
    MCH1.25 - 1.37
    ICHIO 1.5 - 1.60 V
    CPU VTT - 1.27 V
    DDR REF Default
    ICH 1.05 - 1.15
    CPU GTLREF 0&2 67%
    CPU GTLREF 1&3 67%

I want to overclock my cpu to 3800-3900 but when i set cpu vcore to for exapmple 1.5200 after 2 minutes or less in ORTHOS i have a restart. What can i set in bios to oc my q6600 a bit more? I dont want to set vcore 1.6 because for me its to high)

How this mobo is doing with 2x2GB sticks?

I am interesting in either G.Skill PC8000 5-5-5-x and new Muskin Redlines PC8000@5-5-5-x.

Can they do 540+ stable on this mobo?
I will have a setup with 450fsb@5:6 divider@540 MHz on memory that
is why i am asking that.

What are the lowest PLL and VTT settings in bios (and what uguru monitor shows for them)?
