Looking into a replacement for my xp90c is becoming way too annoying.

I got $35 and need to replace my aged (tarnished) heatsink. Yet not more than $35.

Never gone above 92mm sized sinks, a 120 would be fun to try if it fits my category.

The coolink u8-120 looks rather interesting.

rather than make a new thread about it ill just ask here. Just finished my first Air overclocked rig in quite a while (im on water) and wanted to check the temps with you guys. My Q6600 GO is running at 3.4Ghz 9X378, 1.4v, and it hits about 57 under dual orthos according to Asus Probe and in the low to mid 60's according to Coretemp. Cooling is a Ultra 120 Extreme with a 60CFM Scythe Flex-F fan. Do those temps seem normal? Also according to CoreTemp core 0 and 1 read a good 5-6C higher than Core 2 and 3.

Sounds about right, you might be able to get 3.6GHz out of it and keep load temps under 70C (most ppl try to stay under 70C), give it a shot.

Well as said in your signature E6850. Since it's a dual core processor you should download Coretemp. Its an .exe file.

Thanks. So are these temps on CoreTemp more accurate than IT SmartGuardian?

It should be, CoreTemp records directly from each core accurately.

    HS&F for K8N Neo2 MB

I would like to upgrade my HS&F unit. The one I have now does not cool enough for overclocking. I was thinking of getting the Tuniq Tower 120, but it seems like it might not fit on my MB. Has anyone here used it on a K8N Neo2 MB? If not, maybe someone could make a suggestion of what will work on my MB. Between the AGP and the Ram seems to be pretty tight...wish I could move the Ram up to the top two slots, but when overclocking the Ram needs to be in the closest to CPU slots.

now i'm totally getting confused with my temps...

    ALL at default clocks...
    using Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme w/ Silverstone FM123 (push) + AS5...
    ambient temp 29c...

i know core temp should be 10-15c higher right?

at first thought it was just a bios thing, but tried a different bios... remounted my heatsink...

from benchmarks I've seen, it's quite good, but not the best.
It does come with the new NF-P12 fan which looks impressive
(high static pressure, 54.3 CFM @ 19.8 dB(A), SSO bearings,)
...can buy a 2nd to run it in push/pull for better performance.

i'll never run 2 fans on a heatsink with dense fins.. only improvement would be by 1 deg but the fan noise would go up by 3dB.

Themalright Ultra 120 Extreme is a bit better, probably by 10c on load.

Is scythe mugen a very good cooler guys? I'm thinking of buying one to overclock my intel 8500. (should the scythe be able to handle that wolfdale at 4ghz+ without pushing the voltage to much?)

read the noise level again. the fans aren't even fairly matched. In that case my Ultra 120 Extreme with a Sanyo Denki H1101 would rule.

with the new 45nm procs coming out, it being cooler & low power consumption, would temps on air drastically go down?
