    Asus P5KC

I cant get any more than 405 FSB on any multiplier. Ive heard people get over 500fsb, have I just been unlucky? Got everything set on auto just to see whtat max fsb is, im not happy if only 405.

    Any advice?

Well it's time to go into manual drive then Bikerzzz !! mos tP35 boards do 450 easy even with quads... higher can also depend on the ram you use ( can it handle 900+ speeds) and the CPU wall... which we encounter more and more with these boards

Gone into manual mode. Cpu upto 3.8ghz but at 1.6V still below 60C tho. Memory is PC8000 OCZ alpha, leaving that at 800 ish mhz at min, and sort later on. What should I be doing with Northbridge? Leave on auto? Whats this CPU PLL voltage? can do Auto 1.5v or 1.7v what should i set to?

On a memory note tho, why is is that if you run blend(prime 95), even wit hmemory at 800mhz, stock voltage and timings, it fails?

Keep NB on 1.25, CPU PLL if it runs on 1.5 stable keep it there that should take care of 425FSB... I think 1.8 volts is too low for the OCZ, I think they even need 2 - 2.1 volts at least to be stable at 800mhz 4-4-4-12... auto sets only 1.8 volts and just the required voltage to boot the pc... your dimms are rated up to 2.35 volts mate for 1000mhz

i have a set of TI VX2 Alpha too, i have never run mine over pc5700 due to my mobo wall being at 390fsb when they first come out.

my new maximus formula comes next week so im lookin forward to really pushing this ram past 1000mhz Cas4 like its rated.

and if it doesnt its going back as RMA.

With the ram not goign out of spec I meant the mhz as when I set 400FSB bios automatically sets 1200 for the ram so I need to put it at 1000mhz...

I would reset the bios and start all over again and post us the whole list of settings you do in this template (these settings work for me, my ram needs only 2.0 volts to do 1000mhz but at 5-5-5-15):

    JumperFree Configuration Settings
    AI Overclocking: Manual
    CPU Ratio Control: Manual
    - Ratio CMOS Setting: 9
    FSB Frequency: 400
    PCI-E Frequency: 101
    DRAM Frequency: 1000
    DRAM Timing Control: Manual
    CAS# Latency: 5
    RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5
    RAS# Precharge: 5
    RAS# Activate to Precharge: 15
    TWR: AUTO
    TRFC: AUTO
    TWTR: AUTO
    TRRD: AUTO
    TRTP: AUTO
    DRAM Static Read Control: Disabled

    Transaction Booster: Disabled
    Boost Level: 0
    Clock Over-Charging Mode: AUTO

    CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled
    PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled

    CPU Voltage: 1.5250
    CPU Voltage Reference: AUTO
    CPU Voltage Damper: ENABLED

Cheers mate, everything same as you know bar:

CPU pll V is 1.7v (I only have option of auto, 1.5 or 1.7
    FSB is at 407
    Cpu voltage at 1.55v
Dram V at 2.3v (as recomended)
Dram at 814mhz (still relaxed timings too)

What should I do now?Its NOT prime stable, only loads windows!

Drop to multi 8X, set PLL to 1.5 and see if the CPU is the limit (Vcore wise that is ), otherwise I would suspect one of the rams to be bad...

keep ya current settings just drop CPU multi to 8x, lower PLL voltage to 1.5 and see if it is stable then... also what's the VID of your CPU (read out via coretemp proggy)

If you put back to pll to 1.7V it does and core temp read v as 1.432v

    Use the Asus repair kit:

Reading this thread i'm also out of idea's. Did you ever tested this cpu and memory on another mobo?
