did u buy it brand new or from someone else. Wouldnt matter though , the company should be able to give u an RMA for it. I spoke to DFI the other day asking as to when we will get a bios for Phenoms to work on the board that we have and it doesnt look good. They say bout January at best since they are busy making the bios for the upcoming boards. Typical DFI. Great products , ty support.

After reading your experiences with this board (thanks for sharing) I bit the bullet and put together the combo. in the signature.

It looked as though everything would be still-born at the start when it wouldn't post, but eventually got things moving on a stick of cheap ValueRAM. Still running the ValueRAM and waiting for the Team sticks to come back from RMA - perhaps they need more voltage to work. So much for the general idea that DFI boards spit on cheap RAM!!

Before winding things up, I brought the NB temperatures down by fitting the HR-05 (now running up to about 28-30 degrees under load).

Tonight I acheived my first overclock. I used Clock Gen to take the CPU frequency up to 3.05 GHz while running 2 instances of SuperPrime for 30 min. Only thing stopping me for now is caution! And, yes, I need to start playing in the BIOS to see if it will post at that frequency. Small steps, as I'm gaining confidence as I go.

Like |3ourne I've noticed core0 running about 6-7 degrees hotter than core1 (based on Core Temp 0.95 readings).

Even for a noob, this board is working out very nicely, thank you!

the board itself is ok. what i'm experiencing now is that i can turn it on from the front power switch. then it comes on, makes its clicking noise twice; then it is supposed to beep and post but it doesn't. just stays on and does nothing.

i hold the power switch in, it cuts off. then cut it back on, and after clicking noise twice, it then beeps and posts and boots like nothing was wrong.

current clocks are 250x12 =3ghz and it does this
    HTT is 1250mhz i think

it is also perfectly stable in windows and playing crysis and pro street for 2hrs at 260 fsb
    1350 HTT mhz

That double-click was what I was getting when I first tried booting, except in my case it kept on repeating.

Occasionally it would fire up and run perfectly for hours on end. Then, next time I tried to start it ... "click-click ... click-click ...". I thought it may have been PSU and swapped from the Corsair PSU to an OCZ 520W unit I had on hand, but without success.

On the cheap RAM it fired first time and been there's no problems since. Perverse! I'm looking forward to getting the Team RAM returned to see if the problem returns and if it can be resolved.

So any updates on your final OC? I have a buddy at work that ordered this with the 5000+ black edition and 2 Gb of OCZ Gold DDR2-800....We're going to build it this weekend.
He also got an X1950 Pro and he's planning on keeping his old Antec 380W, however I told him that I doubt it will run it......

By buying that 5000+BE, and 2gb of ram it seems like he has intentions of overclocking it...

It seems you are ready for complaints, considering that PSU...

    GL with that!!
    Zen2 Has brought AMD back!

tell em to get a new PSU.... LOL.

my 5000+BE went to 2.8ghz with my ram at 1140mhz.... and she wouldn't clock higher than that. my friends 5000+BE is doing 2.9ghz and 1100mhz.

since i upgraded my watercooling kit
    :

I have already got me a sanded and lapped (IHS) 6400+ BE cpu (125W factory) and my 1950xtx GPU. time to start some overclocking. at 1.35v this processor will do 3.4ghz. I'm going to up it to about 1.45 maybe 1.5v depending on temps. and overclock the piss outa my video card.

will have updates by this coming weekend.
