Does anyone use crossfire with their DQ6 board and can confirm if the x4 pci-e will give me a noticeable performance boost if i buy another graphics card?

Or do i have to buy a X38 board to be able to use crossfire?

Any help and info much appreciated.

If you use crossfire please tell what the performance difference was for you compared to using a single card..

if the DQ6 has 2x 16x pci-e slots then xfire will work

if that board uses the smaller 4x pci-e slot then no you cant do x-fire with a 16x slot and a 4x slot.

xfire has to be matching cards and they dont make anything matching for the 4x slot cards to match a 16x slot.

You CAN run crossfire on the P35 boards as long as the motherboard in question has 2 physical x16 slots. Even though one of the slots is only operating electrically at x4 speed, X-fire will still work. The theoretical difference in performance would be noticable, however in reality the difference is much smaller, maybe 0-5% worse performance with the P35 instead of the X38.

Hey i am just wondering when you put up the PCI-E freq is ur FSB suppose to go up by the same amount too? Because when i put my PCI-E freq to 101 my FSB goes up by 1 too, no matter what i set my FSB to e.g. FSB set at 438 in BIOS, cpuz and coretemp in windows shows 439mhz. Is this suppose to happen?

    I have a P35-DS3P with a e6600

There aren't good 2x2GB kits for overclocking...
Wrong, I've got 2x2GB G.Skill PQ PC2-6400 running 525MHz 5-5-5-15 with +0.1V set in the bios (1.92-1.94V reported by Everest).

    Hi
New in this forum, but long time that I read what happen here

Somebody know something about a new bios for the P35 DQ6 who support the penryn ?
It is a long time that gigabyte released the F7 beta. I've just tested it with my E6850 and the overclocking performances are very bad. I hope it will be better with my QX9650 who should be at home tomorow normally.

i never whined about newer bioses or anything for that matter, but this is getting quite annoying when a ds4 gets new bioses all the way to F9 while DS3P is only on F6 and they are Exacly same boards :S or DQ for that matter also which is on F7 which is also a same board from bios point of view

btw zsamz how to the KVRs with d9ghm run i also have some for months now (5x1gb) just never any time to take em above the 4gb 400@ 4-4-4-12 1.8v for 24/7

Hmm, I did a search and it appears that it should fit, but before I purchase can anyone confirm just off the top of their head whether the Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 fits on the GA-P35-DS3L?

Station Drivers actually has an F7b beta BIOS for the DS3P. It has all the memory timings available in BIOS without having to press CRTL + F1. It's alot better than F6 for me.

I've been having some trouble getting onto station-drivers, so I'll just put the F7b beta BIOS up on Rapidshare.

    Hi fellows.

Any of you guys have used a north bridge water block on a P35-DQ6?

I was wondering wich of the NB blocks would be compatible with P35-DQ6 mounting holes.

    TIA.

I downloaded the F7b bios the day before station drivers site went down. I installed them and I like them alot. The timmings are laid out alot better than they used to be. I haven't had any trouble with them, been running them for days now.

Millyons, I too am curious to know why DS4 gets bios updates more frequently than DS3P does. Same freakin board from a bios view point isn't it?

I bought my DS4 in early October and it came with F6 bios. I'm happy with the bios as it is, and I've heard so many horror stories about bios flashing that I'll probably keep F6 until I get a new mobo.

I have the f7b on my machine with a q6600. Went to test a e4300 on my board and had to downgrade to f6 to see chip. Just wanted everyone to know the f7b doesnt support all chips. ALLEN

We got a new problem thread open in the Intel section, I already built a DS4 rev 2.0 with F7 bios and an EVGA 8800GT SC works fine, one user has issues with his setup DS4 and ( an unknown brand till now ) a 8800GT, doesn't seem to boot...

Changed biosses F7-8-9, swapped PSU's , tried vidcard in another rig , works fine... he put back in his older 965 and the card works fine there...

Any other user having probs with DS4 and 8800GT ?
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

    +1

I also bought my DS4 Rev.2.0 in Octocber, and it came with F6, I flashed to F7 right away. Then when F8 came out, I flashed it...last week I flashed it to F9. F9 gives me a slightly better OC - from 3.82 (F6-F8) to 3.85GHz (F9) on my Q6600 (on air!) 10hrs prime95 stable.

Every time I've flased, I've done it with a USB flash drive with BIOS flash utility...works great!
