    Make any piece that makes contact with water either copper or brass. Aluminum will only cause problems. Awesome concept though!

    me (and most others) would prefer the nb pot to be copper.
    but, in general its a really great idea and far better than the heatpipe lollocoaster crap certain companies *cough* anus *cough* use.

    This kind of efford is very nice to see beind done.

    ok copper i bear that in mind! I think it's worth the few dollars extra for copper anyhows

    I dont think so, whoevers gonna be doing this will be smacking cold onto the cpu as well, so he/she'gonna be doing some insulation anyways...

    I thought the 'lollercoaster' heatpipes were MSI? Asus has the 'pimp my mobo' pipes.

    Oh yeah... on topic. I really like this ES. It gives a lot of great options. It's like choosing the difficulty level in Wolfenstein 3D. Passive is like "Can I play?" and ln2 is like "Death Incarnate". Very nice!

    @proetheusCon, yep, your right, msi is the lollocoaster company, but, asus is no better if it comes to weird cooling even if they dont give it lollocoaster shape...

    peter, without the heatpipes the heatsinks would still be sufficient to cool a passive system right?

    i only have one sample if i had more id snip the heatpipes to see what the temp diff is

    nice idea, but i see 2 problems:

    change the barbs to g1/4" (they look like 1/8")
    use copper for the nb part

    use EK barbs

    true but at LN2 temps the cold will conduct along the heatpipe wall anyway regardless of the wicking material inside so it may not be a total loss

    Agreed. Copper or Brass for all us watercoolers.

    Likewise I'm loving the idea. Do the heatpipes actually contain anything? There was that investigation by some website a while ago that chopped some up and found nothing inside them...If they're just metal pipes, they'll conduct the cold and chill the SB and MOSFETS, and then still work afterwards.

    It's great. It's a much better cooling solution than what 100% of motherboards currently sport. But y'know what? You can get away with terrible cooling for chipsets. Actually, chipsets have been getting colder lately (although power regulation has been getting hotter). I guess you can't have it all.

    as advised, copper is mandatory for proper watercooling ... it would be nice

    My Big Typhoon most have something in the heat pipes becuse the cpu cant get hotter if i add some -20c air on the cooler..But the -20c did make my cpu very very hot after sometime.

    I applaud you for actually making a functional heatpipe assembly. Top notch stuff and I hope this could possibly become a future trend if cost isn't too expensive.
