I am liking the 10/05 beta bios so far

Edit@ Contankerous: I think the stress of 4GB is on the NB not the OS used. I dont think there would be an issue getting higher/lower clocks based on the OS. I could be wrong tho

I'm unsure of why people are still recommending the 10/05 beta bios for 24/7 use... Any beta bios technically voids your DFI warranty if you end up having to ship the board to them with the beta bios loaded.

Just keep that in mind when you are selecting a bios.

Because it is what is working for me the best.

475fsbx8 on a quad. Not too shabby I would say.

I flashed with the latest bios and it's working fine.
    Nothing wrong here.

@bro20000: can you post your bios settings... i wanna see what i did wrong.

Yeah me too, I cant get my Ballistix to post at 1000mhz 4-4-4-12 @ 2.27v, let alone 4-4-4-4, I am however currently running them at 5-5-5-15 @ 2.2v 1080mhz and they will do that up to 1130mhz fully stable, unfortunatly I dont have a divider in the bios to allow that mem speed ATM with my current CPU speed.

CPU mhz is KING!, everything else follows.

it will vary from board to board and ram to ram. i have had great luck with all four dimms personally. and some people prefer to use the center two dimms...one yellow and one green (which is still dual channel). just like anything try it and see if it works better in your situation.

Well.. when the case is open it's facing the AC, so cool air is constantly flowing towards it..

I'll try tightening though, but like I said it shouldn't be heat conduction since the heatsink is hot enough to burn

The RAM does sound plausible too, as I'm running it at 950 4-4-4-12 right now, but it seems weird that only the audio goes screwy..

For me all 4 slots run equally well & overclock just the same with Geil Black Dragon 8500, STD Ballistix 8500, Tracer 8500, OCZ SLI 8500 & OCZ FLEX 9600.

I can get a few more mhz out of my RAM if I drop to 1T in the BIOS but that only helps find a few mhz when benching.

    @ Emoners & Seanies's Show

Have you guys popped the heatsink clips & checked what chips you have on your Ballistix ?

I am just wondering if you have GKX chips & that's why they are not playing nice on this board.

I have used GMH based Ballistix on this board & for me they ran well over 1000MHz CL4 easy with auto secondary timings.

I was just thinking out loud, sometimes it helps.

I would still put a fan directly over the NB & PWM heatsinks if it were me regardless of the AC unit.

Ram can cause the craziest of issues, I once managed to un activate windows when benching RAM & it wouldn't re activate so I had to re install

Hey guys I want to give a shot @ DFI, shall I pick this board, or the new X38 LP , the X38 is cheaper then the P35 (10euro`s). I just wonder how 4x 1GB Ballistix would run or 2x2 G.SKILL 8000, got them both.

I was not speaking from experience its just I had heard GKX didn't do to good with the P35 chipset.

I guess you may just have some crappy sticks but it would still be worth knowing whats written on your chips if they are not performing well.

How new are your Ballistix ?

The LT x38 if you can find it in stock yet in Europe doesn't have the heatpipe like the UT P35 thats possibly why its cheaper.

I love my P35 imo its flawless a proper 110% pat on the back for DFI. If I were in your shoes with the x38 just around the corner I would hold out a bit longer although I hear the x38 chipset is having divider issues. Apparently the4:5 divider isn't going to well & as of yet theres not much out there to compare against the P35 so only time will tell how far apart the two boards are.

On the RAM front the answer is I don't know which will be better on the x38but generally the 2 x 2GB kits run easier than 4 x 1GB sets all be it the 2 x 2GB sets may be a little fsb limited for some.

looking great, cheers, does DFI boards tend to "eat"RAMS, espacially running 4 of them?

Thanks for the headsup, but how this board doing @ 4:5 divider? and does this board overvolts the DIMM?

I second that I always like to give new boards a run but that was before the P35-T2R came along. For my needs this board is absolutely perfect
