    i'm on XP Pro and it's happening to me too. it just hangs on the splash screen. i uninstalled and reinstalled 3DMark and i tried with both the beta driver and the new 7.11 driver. i haven't been able to run 3DMark since i got my new cards. i have no idea why.

    I had that problem before the hotfix came out, when I was on vista32. one of the polling dll's was hanging.. I simply renamed Direcpll.dll and it fixed the hang.

    but it looks like they hotfixed it since, like said above.

    Hotfix for 3DMark06/05/03 and PCMark05 Available!
    Thu 2007-10-11 - Posted by Nicklas Renqvist
    There's a new unified hotfix available for all the latest benchmarks: 3DMark03, 3DMark05, 3DMark06 and PCMark05. The hotfix updates the following:

    * Updated GPU core/memory clock detection library for enhanced compatibility and support for new hardware
    * New files are:
    o Direcpll.dll (4.10.1.93)
    o Entech.sys (5.0.1.1)
    o Entech64.sys (5.0.1.1)

    This hotfix does not affect any of the benchmark results. A new full install for 3DMark06 Build 1.1.0 (with the hotfix included) will soon be available. Meanwhile, you should download this hotfix and install it now.
