never said I was married, just almost married...
I'm only 24 so cut me some slack![]()
on another "yay" note. My offer on my first ever home buying excursion was accepted and will be closing on the 14th. Now if that doesn't count as a milestone, I'm clueless![]()
As for more crunching power, I'll be using what I can of my bonus this year on a nice yorkfield rig hopefully with a BT2 pushing it.
Aside from other random house projects that will crop up, I want to do a from scratch pelt based water chiller to cool the beast.

Congratulations on one million. Also congrats to Nugzo and Juice Daddy@ToV for also going over a million.![]()
Congrats on the home too. Be careful though. A house can be a money pit.

83 days for my first million, 35 for the second, pretty pleased.
If all goes as planned Febuary or March should see me planting seeds in a nice little farm in the basement. Maybe get that down down to 7-10 days.

Yes, but as a long-time homeowner I can tell you maintaining a home is not cheap. Next year I'll be having a new roof put in. That's going to cost around $20K. I just had the home re-painted. That was another couple thousand. You get some of that back when you sell. But right now the housing market is in the toilet. Fortunately I bought my current home when prices were still cheap. But I feel sorry for the people who bought when the market was peaking. Not only is their home worth less than what they paid, but it's hard to find buyers even if they want to get out.
Buying a home is a good investment, long-term. But you have to be able to weather the financial storms. And right now, the mortgage market is in the midst of a tsunami.

No also a q6600 @ 3.0 in a media center i built on a P5K-VM board in a tiny little case, so cooling is a beotch, so no high clocking. So 2 quads, both in working machines, one my gaming rig, which has very up and down production due to my everyday use, the media center is much more stable in what it produces, as it is not really used for too much gaming.

150000 points per day, 10 Q6600 @ 3.6 should do it. Looking to build 6-8 rig farm, added to the 2 I have now, should be doable, and hoping with th penryn launch will be able to get the Q6600's on the cheap.

I don't think the Q6600's will drop much..Just a hunch but we'll see.
Something for you to think on:
With the lower elec use and the lower heat output, The lesser Yorkies in the spring might be a better long term investment when all factors are tossed into the equation..
I've learned the hard way that in the summer these hot chips are a double cost..elec to run them and then the elec again to remove that heat from the house..Now in the winter that's not as bad as the added heat does have a small effect in cutting the oil bill.
It's snowing here today for the first time and my thermostat is set at 66 and it's 69F down here..![]()

I will look at all the options when the time comes. I am coming under budget on the remodel at the house, and should have a fairly decent kitty to work from.
The only issue I have with the yorkies is support without ddr3, as things are playing out now, looks good. I have started stockpiling PSU's from ebay sniping, and picking up budget ram from fry's when corsair or something else 800 speed comes up dirt cheap. Have 6 cpu water blocks, so good there, only 2 rads will have to add 2 more I think, and they don't come cheap, at least the ones I like, the thermochills. Starting to snipe cheap video cards also to cover the rigs. So cpu and mobo's will be my biggest outlay of cash.

You may find that the yorkies at up to 4000-4200 can run nicely on air.
As to vid cards, Sierra posted a free after rebate mmx 4000 today I think..
$20.00 now, $20.00 rebate..Can't beat that with a stick.
Good place to Thank Sierra for all those deals he posts.
Greatly appreciated pal...Anything that helps save money here is a blessing!![]()

Most people seem to agree, but we'll see. If not maybe I can pick up a nice G0 from someone upgrading to Penryn.
I'd love a Penryn myself but I'd have to upgrade my mobo too. Apparently only the DS3 3.3 supports 45nm, though I'm assuming this isn't just marketing bs.
Love to get a Penryn and an X38 board and throw my e6420/DS3 in the back room to crunch but money's kind of tight at the moment.![]()

Let me tell you something about him that I have learned over two years;
He rises to challenges like no one I've seen and will do what is necessary to win..Very determined individual. Combine that with his skills and he's not someone that I'd challenge in any way unless I knew I had a 3-1 advantage and even then he'd probably beat me!![]()
