I can't tell you the urge I'm fighting right now
to pick up a couple of the cheaper HD3850's
and pair them up with a pair of 3870's for a
    wicked QuadFire rig!!!

    christonapogostick there goes the budget...

I think that's going to be true with any 3800 series purchase. I'll find out later today if this is true when my HIS 3870 shows up. Anyway, NCIXUS is giving away the Valvel Black Box bundle with any 3800 purchase and if you purchase a 3870 from them they are also giving a free Call of Juarez with it. The unfortunate part is that the cost is $239 + shipping.

    UK updated:

Overclockers.co.uk prices are still the same but there are only 5 3870 cards left. OC admin said they had over 300 of them i am guessing thats good sell out since there is only 5 left.

Komplett.co.uk updated thier date to 26th of November.

Ebuyer.co.uk getting about 50 of each in 5 to 8 days.

There's actually quite a few listings now. http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=hd3870

If you look at the lowest e-tailer on the list (Umart- $499 who are they kidding?) they have only recently put their prices up to this level as when the y first listed they were listed @ $399. Still ridiculous but not stupidly over-the -top going to gouge you for all it's worth.
    It's umm....not extreme.

Dones't really matter because they're all the same really.

All comes down to who offers better warranty. Well with nvidia some offer lifetime warranty, others offer transferable warranty and so on.

With ATI, it doesn't matter because they all offer only 1 year warranty...which In my opinion is a buncha crapshoot.
I still have my 7900GTX card and won't be replacing it anytime soon...it's nice to knwo that it's covered under eVGA lifetime warranty.

I think Power Color is the only ATI distributer that offers a lifetime warranty. I've read bad things about Sapphire:

Stay away from Sapphire, they have really bad customer service should anything go wrong.

Yes. HIS knows how to take care of their customers as does PowerColor.

HIS is a little better since they usually make IceQ versions of ATi cards

yea you might want to read the actuall thread on the Sapphire hosted Community Forum.

Then you might read that i was actually Alpha Mirco Ltd shop that actually offered him the card.

See thats the thing i had only Sapphire cards and not one thing ever went wrong on them since they are the actuall contractor for ATi cards.

On the warranty side of things most ATi cards come with 1 to 2 year Warranty's, only ASUS ones come with 3 year warranty.

Same as me! When I saw this offer they had 8 in stock, but after placing my this number felt to 3! So in 5 minutes time someone bought 3 more cards .

BTW I canceled my order from CCL because they said parts are not available till next week.
