I'll be running a Q6600 on an IP35-E, and it should arrive for on tuesday. My army of 2 Core 2 based systems should indeed be sneaking up on some folders here on XS!

Hello !!! I'm wanting to join the ranks if that is ok - on the 3dMark team and figure I'll use my power for good not evil = lol =

I will be running my E6850 @4GHz and E4400 @ 3.2GHz round the clock and may go to the family business and install on machines there and at parents home.

hopefully I can catch up to speed on this topic! do I get the sig just by copying location and filling in the right info or do I get it from the F@H site?

how many machines can one person have under them... just wondering ?

Hi. You can run as many machines as you want although setting up a LAN and router to use them all might be a pain in the ass. Be careful with your 4 GHz machine, that might be too fast to run FAH, or at least the SMP client. Once you get it it all setup you will be generating a lot of points though, that's for sure.

    LU0P10 - do I see that you've got a Q6600 machine setup?

It is always OK to join up, we turn nobody away

The sig comes from a few different places, depending on which one you want. AFAIK F@H doesn't have an official stats sig, so I went to folding.extremeoverclocking.com to get mine. If you want, you can copy the image location of my sig, then put it in your sig but just change the user ID in the string from SparkyJJO to yours. Be sure to get the image location, I have the image as a link to the team stats as well.

You can have as many machines on one name as you want. Just put your name and the team number in each one and F@H will take care of keeping them all straight

Your system at 4GHz should be fine, as long as it is totally stable. If it is prime stable for a 12 to 24 hour run or so it should be fine, I tested all my overclocks that way and have no trouble. Also be aware that temps can get a little warm too so make sure you are running cool enough

Is there such a thing? I think not. If you're stable and cool, you'll be fine

I really like the way the XS team has been coming together lately. Very nice indeed (no bs, nice guys )

Wow, I can't remember. It shouldn't take long though. I'd check the fah stats page if I were you. What name are you folding under? I'm sure the boys got you configured correctly, right?

Sparky, I've been folding for years now....and nobody has ever asked me that! LOL Good on ya for trying but I'll have to save you from an expensive commitment

Yes, first of all... what is your folding name...
...Stanford's stats are updated once in a hour... and then EOC stats, which are based on that, are reloading every three hours. So I'd say on average ~ 3 hours after you uploaded wu to the CS (=collection server).

@JVGuest: The renegade has upgraded... yes, ...updated sig to correlate better the real loop order...

About ocing and SMP-client. I think I had to back up fellow citizen and say JV has a point. Not very nice thing to start folding, with bad luck and unstable wu and beta client and yet few bugs, frustration could be behind the door if not careful qfix is to save some points of course

Thank you for kind words again

Valid point But it all hinges on the stability of his setup (not the speed), and if it's a dedicated folder or not.

My wife won't let me fold on her computer anymore....so no more upgrades for her

Have you completed any WUs yet? It may take a little bit to show up.

Sorry to hear that The smp WUs have tight time constraints, and if they're not met you get zippo. Your rig should finish easily enough even if it isn't folding 24/7. I'd rerun the config and make certain your name and team are correct (they should show up in [ ] when you rerun the config, if not, you're anonymous). Otherwise, exercise a little patience, and you'll show up soon enough.

    Hmm weird.

Could I see a screenshot of the -configonly screen with the user name and team number showing? (hit enter for the first couple questions then take a screenshot). Thanks.

Whats the largest size the FAH directory can get? I was gonna put it on a few USB flash drives, and figured it would probably have no problem fitting on a cheap 128mb one, but thought I'd make sure. I know the advanced WUs can get over 20mb upload, but thats at the end, not while being worked on.

The largest I'm seeing for the directory is around 50mb. The largest upload I've seen has been about 27mb according to fahspy, but I don't remember what WU that was....and I haven't been monitoring as much lately.

That upload was probably a SMP WU, I've seen some large ones of those. That was awhile ago though, I think maybe the current SMP units are smaller uploads, but I don't remember Having fast internet is great, upload size does not matter Unfortunately when I'm home I'll have to pay attention to upload size again

naw man, it had to do with doing the best with what you had, I started building computers back around when p2's just came out, so i got a bunch of 486 parts free and was making he best out of them, this was when I was ~6 years old, my dad taught me all i knew back then, and he's a car mechanic, so when he couldn't figure something out that I didn't know we would look through the library for books, then 3-4 years later I found [h], thought it was a good name, so I used it, but now people probably think it's because i think i'm better than everyone, but that is far from the case
