    Ummmm...no.

The 8800gt beats the 2900pro at the same price point. That's stock vs. stock AND overclocked vs overclocked.

8800gt is hovering around 280-320 now.... Gotta love Nvidia lieing to their customers, sure it would be around $235.. at launch. After first stock went out, PRICE JUMP!

going from 235 to 280 averaged and up to 320 on the higher end is bull any way you slice the pie.

a flashed 2900pro is the better bargain.
    AMD X2 3800+

    2 x 1Gb Crucial PC8500 [Anniversary Heatspreaders ]
    Custom Watercooling on the way
    Thermalright XP-90 right now

Maybe you need to learn something about retail business. It got NOTHING to do with nVidia. You can thank stores like newegg for it. Just as when I could buy E6600 at release day for 270$ in droves. Yet on newegg it was 400$ or more. Go figure.

So get a ing clue before spreeing out bull.

Also the MSRP on the 512MB card is 249$.

I also doubt its controlling the price. Since nVidia only sell the G92 chip to board makers that uses reference design or their own.

Not my problem. If the manufacturer tells me $235 and it goes up to 280-300$, then yeah I do hold them responsible. Obviously they are not giving out the right contracts for retailers to sell their product. Theres plenty of people willing to have sales brought to their door for selling a product for the right price.

Maybe try check the rest of the world. And you would see the issue is on your home turf.

Instead of just whining and blame others instead of who you should.

And even then, if you should blame a manufactoring company. Blame Asus, EVGA, XFX etc etc.

Your crap is like blaming AMD or Intel if a PC increase in price.

maybe if people actually bought amd cards, their prices would go up too lol.
even with the price cut its not that good of a deal compared to 8800gt or 3870
