Yay, Finally got my account for the forums here. Decided to take the plunge and see what DFI is all about. This is my first DFI board, have to say I was impressed initially at board layout and stuff... Was hitting 4ghz OCCT stable on air on my first night using it. But it was making a really high pitched squealing noise so I had NCIX RMA cross-ship me another one. The second one squealed as well and then died after a day. I'm currently waiting for the third to arrive, any suggestions as to why I'm getting sqealers?

    So.. i tested, and..
I tested my CellShock memory kit, DDR2 1000 5-5-5-15 version, but i cant manage them to run 1200 with 5-5-5-15 with the settings what i used for my Crucials too .

I tried up to 2.5v Vdim too ( crucials needed 2.1v ), the windows booted up, but i cant run any stability test, like PI32M, Memtest and Prime, i got errors, restarts, freezes .
Tried also my TeamGroups ( TXDD2048M667HC3DC-M ) but ~ same thing like with the Cells..

I will try to play more with this kits, but this situation is really sad..
The people spend hundred USDs for high end rams, and ~300 usd for this board and ..

    PS : Cpu was at 8 x 500, and the rams with 5:6 ( 1200 ).

Raja has tested this situation Extensively and his findings are the same as mine 1 stick of Ram goes Balls to the Wall but add the second stick and forget it! After Raja told me about that finding I had to try for myself and I got the same situation when I tried.....(Sigh)

    Hey

Just brought the UT P35-T2R. This is my first DFI board and its the first time ive ever overclocked full time. (Did some AMD64 newcastle overclocking but just ran so damn hot). Im using 4x1gb crucial ballistix PC8500 C5 kit without any problems. When i first booted it gave me a 7F error on the LCD, but cleared CMOS and havnt had an issue since. Did some minor overclocking and managed to get me q6600 to 3.6ghz with eaze using 1.39v, and the memory at 600fsb (2:3 divider) 5-5-5-6 (2.1v going to try tighter rimings with 2.2 as it can go upto 2.3v)
Temps are 50-55, although i think this was due to my wc kit. First few hours cpu was 30-35 (stock-load) but then overnight it shot up to 40-50's @ stock. Did some OCing then pump broke, gotta rma.

    I freaking love this board!

My Team Xtreem PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz 4-4-4-12 (part# TXDD2048M1066HC4DC) works fine with this board, I never ran memtest with this combo, but i've never had any stability issues either. It clocks over 650mhz cas 5 and runs well over 500 cas 4 prime large fft with no problems. Maybe it's the SPD's in the cas5 TX modules having problems?

A couple of things for everyone to keep in mind when testing the Cell Shock memory issues with this board.

    1. It is not an SPD issue.

    2. Testing with anything other then the Blend option in Prime is a complete waste of time. The results using Small or Large FFT mean nothing.

This board is running rings around my P5K SDeluxe. Still no CAS4 on the OCZ (5 4 4 14 trfc 40 so far) but I DON'T CARE It's outperforming any board I have owned (and I have owned a few).

My Asus P5K Deluxe was actually slightly quicker across the board but it was a piece of s**t with the worst layout I have ever seen & virtually nothing worked properly RAID, sound, board temps etc etc etc for me there is more to a good board than just speed these days.

well, its a giant leap though. I believe he had problems like hanging, way way off rated speeds since it was set up.

I don't Put any Faith in SuperPi unless 32M is being used and still don't think a PC should be portrayed as stable unless 8hrs of Prime Blend is Performed!

Stability is perceived differently bye everyone be it for benching, gaming, 24/7 & so on but for me 8 hours isn't quite enough to complete one full cycle of Prime. I prefer 10 hours minimum for my 24/7 rigs.

With both boards I was noticing the squealing noise even before changing anything from default values. It did get slightly louder as I started raising voltages on things. Any ideas what the culprit could be? bad luck? my own error? psu? I don't want #3 to die too

Even so but pushing a chip to 4ghz without somewhat of Board break in period is not sensible.

P.S.U's these days even the very best are questionable anymore , so yes I would explore that option.

I didn't exactly go right for 4ghz. Sorry If i made that unclear.

I was rather excited when I got the board and pulled an all-nighter overclocking. I didn't do any priming longer than two hours for each overclock test (primed at stock for ~an hour, moved up gradually 3.2, 3.4, 3.6, 3.8 occt/priming each time) but I certainly didn't go right for 4ghz. I don't even feel comfortable running it at 4ghz as a 24/7 setting using air cooling. I was just impressed with it letting me reach 4ghz OCCT stable fairly easily and thought I would mention it.

From what I read about the Corsair 620w before I purchased it, I figured it would cover my setup and it seemed high quality.
I was looking at the Silverstone Decathlon 750w PSU, any thoughts?

I am using the Silverstone DA750 in my current rig. No issues to speak of then again I haven't overclocked much as I have plans to better my cooling before I go all out.

Hi every1, I am building a second rig, with a Q6600, and probbly a 2900pro, I have considered X38, but I wont use the benefit of X38, since I dont go crossfire nor DDR3, so sticking with the P35 would be the choice. However I got atm a P5K Deluxe on my main rig, what I want to know, does anyone got a P5K deluxe, and this DFI board? And how are they compared. Another great thing about the P5K deluxe, is the sollid volts from ilde to load, I know some1 that measured the volts with a DIMM and the real vcore was almost idential to what CPU-Z shows! however RAMdimms do overvolt, by like 0,05V. So is there any vdroop/ vdrop ( P5K deluxe does have the vdrop as u get lower then u set @ bios) @ this board? And does this board also overvolt the RAMs?
And what is the difference between : http://trend4pc.de/media/products/DFI/LT_B.jpg and this 1 : http://us.dfi.com.tw/Upload/Product_...%20P35-T2R.jpg, are they supposed to be the same , 1 got Black sinks and the other silver

I havnt used any Asus board so i dont know how good a comparison this will be, but i recenlty got this board and its awesome. It looks amazing has excellent BIOS settings and tweaks and overclocks like a dream. Not had any power issues and im using the Corsair HX620W with 4gb ram and a GFB OC2 8800GTX.

Functionally they are the same. The difference is one has a heatpipe assembly and the other has separate heatsinks for the PWM, NB and SB. The heatpipe version also come with a HR-05 style cooler that attaches to either the PWM or SB heatsink.
