Zalman VF1000 LED meets Asus 8800GTX

If you own a P5K-D board you can mount the HR-03+ so that the HS/fan is above the NB and only have to sacrifice the stupid wireless card and there is no difference in temps doing so other than keeping the back of the card a little cooler.

Also, if you plan on OC'ing your GPU you'll run into problems with the VF1000. After installing mine I kept getting freezes in games until I backed down to stock clocks--I had zero problems w/ that OC (in sig) and the HR-03+. Why spend all that money on a HS if it won't allow you to overclock? Further, no offense here, the RAM sink is not worth the money. Get some copper sinks instead and bend the fins for clearance.

hmmmm i did not notice slower clocks with my a3 gts
stock volts 675 playing moh a for a few hrs.
with the zalman 699 24/7 np,but have not tried the hr-03.
if its the money yes its quite pricey
in sli i can slip a fan(2x90mm) under the bottom card now which i cuold not do with stock h/s.
i think it pays off with good temps at higher volts(1.48)load no where near 75c like stock fan,(66)and seems to have much better post load temp back down.
but heatsink reveiws are all about amb temps so....two or three c differance means alot to out come.

BTW it looks smoking hot on the black pbc...i know looks are not everything

Do you have a fan riding on top of the HR-03 then? I'm just concerned the TRUE wouldn't fit w/ a fan. Also, I'd need another fan below to cool the ram.

cowie also played with VF1000 but in SLI http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=4789 - you need flexible SLI connector as non-flexible ones won't fit due to heatpipe getting in the way.

the chipset guide(in pic) has to be removed to install rhs,so it acts as a few things.
cooler and rhs is nice fit,like a glove,witch may help spread the heat

i have not tried without rhs, had not good e-nuff heatsinks

to me the TT looks like two vf900's stuck together into one really long heatpipes coming from both sides. but the hr-03 are doing better than the TT and the vf1000. it doesn't look like the 1000's are doing so well. i could be using those pci slots for something rather than such a huge heatsink LOL

yep, it doesn't make sense ,I don't think the heatpipes are working properly cz under heavy load the base heats very quickly and the heatpipes stays a little warm.

Now that's the same thing that happens w/ my Ultra 120 Extreme's pipes. They're barely warm @ full load. Now the HR-03 Plus' pipes go way past warm and almost hot.

I lapped the TRUE, so it probably won't be eligible for RMA either.

Just installed the Thermaltake DuOrb on my Inno3D 8800GT and idle temps are 20C lower and 28C in Crysis.. Booyeah!!!
