WHOA .....Doggies Man just came through 8hr Prime session and figured that I would mess with some Memory settings and see what the deal is with that, so I start playing with the Fine Clock Delay and Tune up all 3 to Aggressive no other adjustment Boot into Windows NP and whoa......Bandwidth shot right up! Go back into Bios adjust Fine Clock Delay to More Aggressive
Boot into Windows NP and yet another increase in Performance but not this much this time!!! Test both times with Prime for about 1/2 hr all good so far but need longer eval and Prime Session to make accurate assessment!

Have finally resolved this RAID 6-Drive issue and it is a BIOS one, new setting actually which allows the extra 2 ports to be seen by the Matrix controller...

    In BIOS under

    Intergrated Peripherals
    On-Chip IDE Device

    (New Option)
Run AHCI ROM Enabled (Enabled = 6 drives / Disabled = 4 Drives)

Save & Exit and CTRL-I to enter allow configuration of attached drives.

    DFI ICH9R RAID Array

DFI - no charge for the secretarial services

As far as the board goes were all pretty advanced overclockers but this board when first getting it is intimidating even to the advanced Overclockers me included I think we all have some form of stage fright with this Monster of a board and I seriously don't think its just me or you and I think its fair to say that I can speak for all of us when I say that

I am AMD by a long shot "Fanboy" ...Yea...."WHATEVER"" lets just say that I have not really been impressed with Intel Overclocking Boards coming from D.F.I Expert Motherboard its always felt as if Ive been getting incomplete boards due to lack of fine tuning Bios abilities. Well not anymore after 7 Intel boards this is the only one that I can honestly say is worthy for Overclockers at least the boards I have experienced this is the real deal and a full and complete package and I don't feel cheated..."Finally"!!!

If you leave the Full Screen LOGO enabled then this is quickly cleared with the RAID BIOS Screen so you get to see the drives and can press CTRL-I for entry.... then onto the JMicron BIOS ... I leave the LOGO screen disabled by default.

I have not set up Raid on this board but I pulled my 2 Raptors off of my controller to make sure they ran well on this board and also Run SPINRITE 6 on them both for there routine pull from Array Diagnostics run as you know even the best programs (SPINRITE 6) wont work properly with Raid Controllers and that the Pinacle and standard in the IT Industry!

What about Post Screen does that show for you or is it right to Raid Bios Post Screen once more?

unfortunately no. Has to be in the first slot. The other slots are either 4X, 1X or 1X, 1X depending on how you have the bios setup. That is the limitation of the P35 chipset. If you want 16X on any other slot you need the X38 chipset.

Cantankerous is right... Only one slot possible, and DFI's P35 is one slot closer to the CPU side than any other mobo I have ever seen. Its kind of a pain in the arse space-wise.

Considering your dilemma, you might want to try an Asus Blitz. Its primary PCI-e X16 is a full 2 slots over from the DFI, 1 slot over from most standard mobo's. See this pic.

Any of you guys have an X-Fi (any flavor), GRAW 2, and crackling when set to highest audio quality in game/audio console?

My Abit has it, P5B Deluxe did not. I really like the layout/colors better than my current board, but would love to know if I'm going to escape the damn crackle!

No, but I was one of the lucky ones when I bought my XFI Platinum and never had any issue with it ever! But the drivers I wanted to get away from and I went to Auzentech and have never looked back considering this $70.00 whoops ass on the $200.00 XFI Platinum and no driver issues how can you get hurt?

I will also add that Gaming is absolutely no different with this card than my XFI Platinum!!!!

I run an xfi. Don't have any issues going from my NF4 expert to the T2R. I always run the "minimal" creative install. That seems to give me the least grief.

I'm looking at getting this with a new Q6600 to replace my E6600 and XBX2. I was wondering if it's just fine to leave the transpiper on their or if removing it and using HR-05's would yield good results? I'm just curious. And if it would be a good idea would they work with a 120 extreme HSF? I have a Tuniq 120 currently and it's so big I couldn't really replace the NB cooler on the XBX2 cause of space limits.

For the music lover sure, but the gamer in me requires 128 voices. If anything, I wouldn't mind checking out their latest Prelude.

Looks like motherboardpro's got the best $ on this @ 270 right now. Anyone have any good recs for UV cathodes?
