if your cpu has no fsb wall i think it is no problem.
Only going by DFI experience here.what does these do? and how to determine what to use???

NB voltage: 1.40...suggestion for 3600Mhz and up that is safe
NB voltage reference: 0.67x
SB voltage: 1.05
Firstly the default CPU VOLT ref I presume is the same as GTL ref and should be 0.67x for a quad core chip. Not set in stone though.
FSB and NB on the DFI required around 1.55v for decent stability.
Sb I wouldn't think you need to touch.
As I say this is going by DFI and a bit of research. Maybe figures worth considering.

thanks RLM for the reply, i tried using the lowest CPU Voltage Ref setting 0.57x and it worked fine, even lowered my temp by approx .5 to 1C. but when i tried to lower my Vcore from 1.375v to 1.3625v, my oc failed p95 after 1hr 57mins., i tried to up the CPU Voltage Ref setting to 0.61x and failed p95 after 3hrs++, went to max at 0.67x and it failed again after 5hrs... seems the Vcore is proper at 1.375v and for minor tweaking for oc's that fail after a while, seems that these setting helps.
Am currently at 3420Mhz using 0.57 for that setting at 1.375v(vcore), NB is 1.25v and FSB termination voltage at 1.3v... prime stable for 8hours++. temps range from 37 to 68C on a hot day... seems to be a good 24/7 setup for me for now as i am only on air(tuniq)...

My problem is: above this, I just can't get stable, no matter the setting I use, Prime95 crashes after less than 5 minutes. I'm still a noob on overclocking, and my gaol is to use 3600Mhz day by day config (400x9 or 450x8).

Quick 0311 vs. 0503 update:
I went right from 0311 to 0503 and after setting all timings manually I'm still perfectly stable @ 436 (see sig for details) as usual. There are some slightly tighter sub-timings, which have resulted in a VERY VERY minor performance increase.
I did have one issue with my vidcard drivers after updating that was cleared up immediately with a driver re-install

I would guess 1 or 2 places to luck/tighten from the timings given:-
1) It's possible your ram is running undervolted as you try to go further.
Spec is 5,5,5,12 @2.2v 1067
your at
5,5,5,15 @2v 734
I'd up your voltage to 2.2v (stock voltage) & leave it there for now. You will also have scope later to increase divider giving memory speeds between 1000~1200, but best leave that till last.
Try that & increase fsb if still fails
2) Increase vcore
Your biggest constrainbt will be temps i would guess, what cooling are you using??

Try to get 400FSB first with eg a multi of 8 and see if it's stable, if stable you can add Vcore to eg 1.5 and change multi to 9x , test if it's stable, then go 1.475 or sortlike... make sure the CPU is adequately cooled and some fresh air blowing over the PWM area....

I'm using a Coolermaster GeminII + 2x120mm coolers with ~115CFM each. There are some air flow over the PWM area and over the ram sticks too.

Thanks to Supershanks tip, I'm keeping vdimm at 2.2v for now, but I think I need to give some more attention for the PWM area. Maybe use 2x40mm coolers on it since the Asus original blower won't fit because of my cooler.
Since I already knew I could get up to 3300Ghz stable with 1,325v vcore set in bios using the 9x mult, I kept that vcore and tried first 415x8 (3320MHz) and one core crashed at Prime95 after about 7 minutes only. Then I tried 413x8 (3304MHz) and I'm more than 2 hours Prime stable:

I tried 400x9 for a while with 1.50 vcore but the temps got so high that the system restarted (100+ºC).
One thing is clear for me: despite of what I've always been told about overclocking, using most of the options at AUTO seems to keep the system more stable than if I try to guess a voltage. Point to Asus, I'd rather that way :p
I'll keep on testing, and I believe I have to work on two fronts: voltages and temps.
Now I'm trying almost the same config but using a different strap/memory option: strap 266 and DRAM Frequency: 1033. Let´s see what happen.
EDIT: one core failed after 1 hour and 23 minutes.

Whats a safe range for these voltages with default heatsinks and WC on the CPU?
Is there any known issues with the P5K-E currently (mostly about SATA drives) ?
I have all sata drives (see my sig) and I want to be sure it will work with this board since it might me my fallback choice if the IX38 QuadGT is disappointing.

Hi guys
i'm playing for a couple of days with this new toy Q6600 G0 L728B and i've stuck in a weird problem.I'm stable @3700 1.43volt under load but when i try 3800 and 1.47-1,50 i get an immediate shut down when trying to prime95.The weird thing is that i get the same shut down @3700 and vcore at 1,47 and above.It seems like there is a hard lock for vcore from 1.47+ that's shutting down the cpu.
Of course i've tried every single combination of all volt adjustments but the problem is still there.Bios 503. Any thoughts??????

My vCore is set at 1.6375 in order to be orthos stable at 3800. This pushing about as far as I want to go other than brief bench marking.
Just an example for you to ponder.

@Viper.Br - good going. if your now stable, you might try tightening memory timings:-
CAS# Latency: 5 ---> 4
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5 ---> 4
RAS# Precharge: 5 ----> 4
RAS# Activate to Precharge: 15 -----> 12

Select 3:4 divider (Dram Frequency) (=1101) with the timings as is
won't give you a big bump in real world applications, but gives a little extra tweak. This means your meory is slightly overclocked, being rated at 1067 If it's not stable at that vdimm at 2.25v should stabalise it, though you will need some active memory cooling.

noob question here .. i just got my p5k premium ..
i cant find any update bios's .. do i just use the asus update program and it will automatically download the latest bios ??
also i set my quad to 3ghz in the bios .. and when i boot .. it shows 3ghzz but as soon as i get into windows it says 2.4 ???

I am about to get this board as my striker died. My CPU is Q6600 but B3(see sig).
I wonder if this will do any good on P5K deluxe. SHould i get this board, do you guys recommend? I suppose i would have better performance than i had in my striker, since P35 is alot more friendly than my past 680i chipset, when dealing with my Q6600.
