    Hey guys, sorry if this is a noob question, but how come you are using superpi as your stability test? I ask because I was able to push my e6700 L629A to 3.6ghz with 1.32V to pass super pi 32M but it would fail any orthos test within seconds.

    Thanks guys,
    Derek

    hahah lol nobody uses superPi to test there cpus stability.. orthos is for that. super Pi stresses the cpu by 50%.
    you will need to raise the vcore in order to get your cpu stable in orthos, and it might be too that your cooling is not sufficient.. what kind of cooling method are you using air/water???
    and what are your temps when the cpu is stressed on load ??

    You must be on air cause i'm hitting a wall at 3700.........same results and can't up Vcore cause air keeps me too hot........soooo 3.5 for day to day and 3.7 for fun knowing orthos is unstable

    I'm testing now the chip under Orthos(just from 15 minutes) @ 3571mhz v-core 1,39(drop till 1,35v) 43/44°C.
    Later I'll post the screen

    haha alright thanks Solarfall! As for cooling, I am using a thermalright ultra extreme with a push/pull yate loon sleeve bearing setup. Both the IHS and the base of the heatsink are lapped to mirror finish. For 3.6ghz, I need 1.45V bios (~1.43V real with p5k deluxe) and the temps really are not too bad. However, with 1.4V (~1.37V I am able to run at 3.49Ghz) with just 1-2C less. I prefer to just stick with 3.49Ghz because the voltage is a lower which I am hoping will help to prolong the life of the chip.

    At 3.49Ghz, my temps max out at 65C (orthos small ffts)

    Need many volts...

    I like my E6700

    Don't look @ the SPI times, only clocked the CPU and start SPI, no optimizations.
    V-core testing @ 1,58V

    SPI 32M @ 4005Mhz(1,58V):

    SPI 1M @ 4051Mhz(1,58V):

    SPI 1M @ 4060Mhz(1,58V):

    SPI 1M @ 4064Mhz(1,58V):

    The cpu can go higher but this morning I didn't have time to bench
    Next week I'll receive my P35-T2R

    That P35 Lanparty sure looks good. Too bad that it's little bit too expensive for my taste. The P965 Infinity is fine for me atm (wait's for the Blood Iron )

    Bad news
    My board don't work well.
    I have install Win Xp+sp2 and after 1 hour with default setting pc freeze.
    Now the mobo won't boot
    I've try anything, ram in single, chenge the vga slot, reset-cmos and remove battery but nothing.
    I'm not able to restart the pc
    The diagnostic led it's on "7F".
    Anyone know how problem is "7F"?
    Any idea for find the problem?
