By the way nice chip Ace-a-rue. Well envious.
I need about .1 more voltage on my GO. What is the stepping?

on the Pro board, i think it is going to be around 500 FSB with a quad core cpu...i think i tried 500 earlier but it was not very stable unless i increased almost all the voltages (except Vcore) right up close to the upper limits; like ICHIO 1.5 and MCH...ram, i don't like to go over 2.4 since i hurt one of my memory sticks many months ago...i try to be more protective with the Vdimm.
i am working the 8X multi and i might be able to squeeze a little more out of it like 480-485 maybe with only a small bump in vcore...i am going to give it a try.![]()

to tell you the truth...who'd want to find out!?...if you are talking about actual vcore, that would be a suicide run in my opinion...i had my B3 up to a bios setting of 1.63-1.64...actual was 1.58 to 1.59...never wanted to go over 1.6v unless i had a phase system...on air its dicey to go over actual 1.6v for vcore.

While I have connected my external USB/e-SATA Seagate Freeagent Pro with an e-SATA cable and is being recognized as a SATA II and I changed it to AHCI my performance is not more than 21 MB/s average the same as USB2.
I don't think this is the supposed transfer.
Could anyone please clarify if he knows anything.
Thanks.

its the rohs compliant thing. There isnt any lead in the solder, so once its set into place, its hard to remelt and get it nice again without it globbing up. What kind of solder did you buy at radioshack? The 60/40 will be your best bet, at least in my experience.(modding xboxes). Just coat the iron before hand with it and you should be ok. You could also try to suck up the old stuff with a copper wick if you need to.
Thanks Bfox, a couple of things for me to think about there.its the rohs compliant thing. No radioshack here, and the ROHS doesn't seem to of caught on here. It's got the lead in. I've tried two kinds. One is 60/40 tin/lead containing non corrosive flux. The other is tin-lead-silver alloy.
I wasn't coating the solder iron beforehand, instead coating the wire. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong.
Will look into the copper wick for cleaning up.
Thanks again manUp for getting this right.

here is 480 FSB after 10+ minutes of everest stressing...i think 485 FSB (8X) is going to be more challenging with the vcore having to scale much higher....right now bios set to 1.5150 with an idle vcore of 1.475v...that is measured from the board...under load it drops about another 0.04v, maybe 0.05v...i'll check after posting this picture.
EDIT:...checked the actual load vcore from the board and it is 1.43v...actually, like 1.428v

@ 3.60GHz WITHOUT the Vdroop mod connected![]()
Q6600 L725A903 G0 - VID 1.2625 3.10Ghz prime stable @ 1.220Vcore real (default) idle taken by DMM
I was surprised how much more Vcore is needed once you go above 3.20GHz
3.20GHz needs 1.2825Vcore set in bios = 1.23V windoz idle 1.21V load (actual DMM reading)
3.60GHz needs 1.4525Vcore set in bios = 1.41V windoz idle 1.34V load (actual DMM reading)
Reported CPU-Z, Uguru and DMM Vcore readings variations are no more than .02V difference![]()

Should be even better when I connect the mod![]()
lots and lots of cores and lots and lots of tuners,HTPC's boards,cases,HDD's,vga's,DDR1&2&3 etc etc all powered by Corsair PSU's
mmm seems my last post to ya got lost in the ether ... there's a Radio Shack down from Siam but I will have some local with the gear to help out, ping me tomorrow ...

Very nice alpha0ne ... my board suffers a huge vDroop so Vcore is up high to allow for the load drop ... the Mod is really needed ... seems I may have got RLM's first board after he sent it back .. TiT

your Vdroop under load appears to be higher than mine...could possibly be not a great "G0" or it could be the board and PSU not doing its optimum thing.
i am at 3.84Ghz with bios set to 1.5150...in windows, idling, i read direct from the board at 1.4750v...so only a 0.04v Vdrop...NOW...under load, that drops down to 1.43v or about 1.428v...lets make it 1.43v..the total difference in Vdrop+Vdroop = 0.085v total drop in Vcore...yours is 0.1125v...YIKES...that is not the best.
how do you say you have 1.45 set in the bios when your Uguru says 1.45v...can't be!

Hey NCSA, nice one man![]()
Finding stuff here is real fun'n'games. I'm out in Bang Na, and ended up right over the other side of town at NPA out past Don Meung.there's a Radio Shack down from Siam
I really want to do this myself, but I think I'll take up the offer and atleast watch and learn. I'll give you a call tomorrow morning.
Cheers again man.
