Yep, my processor is seriously limiting my performance. So kids, remember, DON'T buy another GTX if you only have a dualcore CPU...

I went from 13800 points (memory 266 3-3-3-8 2T) to that (memory 410 3-3-3-12 1T).

Hey all!

I have a simple little request: Can someone tell me what all their voltages are at? Like from the ones in Asus Probe? Im trying to OC and with everything on auto and setting the FSB to 350, Vista crashes upon entering desktop, and on 400 (tried this before the lower 350 hah) the PC wont POST. My guess is that i have some voltage set incorrectly, but i'd like to compare it to someone else who has this board and OC's to see what i can tweak.

So if anyone has the voltages, may i see a screenshot or see the voltage settings? Thanks! (I know this is more of a 'help the n00b who is trying to OC' kind of deal but help is very much apprecated)

Just to say, when i OC i have memory (Corsair XMS2 PC2-6400 4-4-4-12) at 2.15V and have vCore at 1.375. Do i need to go higher? Specs below in sig.

Just check out my sig. Funny though, 1.45@nb seems to be enough when driving the memory @ 266MHz. Running the memory @ 400MHz requires 1.65v @ nb to be fully stable at 400MHz fsb. This is with 0803 bios and a watercooling setup (the NB block is at 40 degrees celcius with 30 degrees ambient).

Run them corsairs in async, set the fsb to 1600 and memory to 800. Up the CPU VTT to 1.50v. Try setting the 1.2v HT to 1.25-1.30 for now. Put a fan over the NB and give it 1.55v, see if it boots.

Crashes and no booting suggest that NB isn't getting enough juice.

Oh, yeah, I've done 480fsb in summertime, and 500+ in wintertime, so 400fsb is no biggie.

Funny you should ask me to check your sig. Soon after i posted the above message, i looked back through the thread and found a post with your exact signature . So i scaled down my about one point some of the voltages and got the machine to boot at 400FSB X 8 on my stock cooler! Doesnt go above 62C on 100% Orthos Blend load either . Gonna have to do some stability testing though still. I should really just get a better cooler...but i want to have some bragging rights in a way for using a stock cooler LOL!

So success at:
vCore @ 1.425V
SB @ 1.52V
12VHT @ 1.30V
CPU VTT @ 1.62V (I have it actually set at 1.55V though)
NB @ 1.49V and it isnt any hotter than it used to be before...still 40C (hot i know, but im not worried)
These are Asus Probe reports. My actual values in BIOS are obviously lower, yet they report actually higher.

Important Q though: Why does the CPU VTT voltage in Probe keep jumping so much?! I set it at 1.5 or so yet it keeps jumping to 1.62 and to even 1.68! It scares me a bit...should i be worried?

Since this seems pretty stable for now, im going to try some lower Volts and see if i can get rid of this annoying Probe CPU VTT warning >.<

This board has a huge FSB hole from around 370-415MHz FSB. Any value within this range will need a lot more voltage than anything above or below that range. Also, I have noticed that raising certain voltages too high often causes more instability than it fixes. I have done a lot of testing with this board, and I have found that lower voltages actually work better up to 435MHz FSB (which is as far as I have tried).

With the following voltages I am 100% stable (have run both memtest86+ and orthos overnight with no errors) at 3.4GHz (8x425MHz FSB).
Vcore Voltage - 1.46875V
Memory Voltage - 1.950V
1.2V HT Voltage - 1.20V
NB Core Voltage - 1.35V
SB Core Voltage - 1.50V
CPU VTT VOltage - 1.25V
DDRII Controller Ref Voltage - Auto
DDRII Channel A Ref Voltage - Auto
DDRII Channel B Ref Voltage - Auto

However, in order to be stable at 400MHz FSB, I need to raise my NB voltage up to 1.45V (with all the others the same as above).

Hmm....Thanks for this info!
So, 425FSB and you can manage 1.35V with NB...damn. There must really be a hole there! Im at 1.45V just to manage 400. Hmmm. Maybe tomorrow ill try some of your settings. That NB Voltage compared with yours for a lower clock speed is just rediculous. Yours is a whole .1V lower than mine in the settings!

Out of curiosity, how high does your CPU get under 100% load doing small FFT test in Orthos? And how in the world is your CPU VTT Voltage so low?!? 1.25 compared with my 1.40V. LOL! There must be some serious hole in there still. Ill try it tomorrow. But now, it's way too late. Im happy i got it running bootable so far with 8X400 on stock cooling . I must be retarded to be still using stock instead of buying a nice cooler, but oh well.

Settings (lowest so far):
VCore: 1.3625V
NB: 1.45V
SB: 1.50V
12VHT: 1.20V
CPU VTT: 1.40V

See, i really wanted my 1:1 ratio with my RAM, but i guess i cant get everything can I? Ah well. Also, am i the only one who's using a stock cooler? ROFL!

My Orthos Small FFT load temps are between 54-58C depending on ambient temps. It took me a lot of testing to even be able to post at 400MHz FSB and even more to get it to not freeze within a minute or so. The voltages I posted are what I have set in BIOS for 425MHz, but my board tends to over volt most things (except vcore) a little bit.

Here is the screenshot you wanted of the voltages in ASUS probe:
http://img488.imageshack.us/img488/1...ettingsvb3.jpg

If you are curious about the PSU rails being low, the board seems to report them wrong because I checked them with two multimeters and they are almost spot on what they should be.

I see. I just tried some of those settings with the exception of vCore, which i put at 1.4375. It will POST, but it wont successfully load into windows. I'd think that my vCore still isnt high enough, but i cant push it with this stock cooler (it was idle in BIOS at 48C at 1.437V!!!!). Guess ill just need a new cooler then haha. Least i got 3200MHz nice and bootable, as well as being pretty stable.

It's weird because i have my vCore at 1.3625V right now and it boots fine at 3200MHz. But, go a slight increase to 3.4GHz and it wont boot, even with some of my rediculously high Volts, except a higher vCore. Ah well.

Second that! I was also worried, when everest reported that 12v rail dropped to 11.520 volts. I checked them out and every 12v line was between 11.99 - 12.03 volts, even the 8800gtx extra lines (under load)

You can use either the official 9.53 nforce drivers or the nforce unified remix 11.15.

I have a silly request: Can someone post a picture (or pictures) of their chipsets themselves on this board?

And also, can anyone clarify if we really do get a 570SLi or a 590SLi? I found in another thread some guy's P5N32-e Sli Plus had a 590 written on it and im too tired to search and read through this entire thread. Thanks.

Any gain with this unified driver release ?
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I don't notice any performance related gains. It does have the latest nforce beta drivers and drivers that were deemed more stable or have been modified for better compatibility. I am no coder and finding exact specifics on the drivers is rough. I get tired of looking through so many threads on different forums to find answers. What I will say is it works on my board.

Thanks. On the topic of the board, what CPU cooler would be good for this? I dont want many issues with things not being able to mount properly and such on the board...

I don't know of any issues with any cooler on this board. If you are going to add third party coolers to the memory and northbridge then depending on what you use for them you might have to be picky. I use the Zalman 9500 and Corsair ram cooler and can put any of the ram fans and most of the northbridge coolers if I want.

Just so you know there is a new BIOS 0803 for this board.

Thanks! 9500 eh? Hm...How does the Arctic Cooler 7 Pro sound? (it's nice and cheap hehe...cant afford $80CDN on a cooler just before university fees). Guess ill go update my BIOS to 0803 then . Gotta rekey my OC settings...again.

I haven't seen very good temps on the C2D's with the arctic cooler especially if you plan on overclocking much. If you lapped it really well and applied the perfect amount of as5 and your ambient temps weren't high then you would probably be OK for a modest overclock.
My e6600 @3.2 9x355 1.36v, ambient temp 65f/70f, idles about 27c, 100% stressed load never above 47c, gaming under 45c.

I received my second set of 2x1GB Corsair ddr2 today and installed it in my system without a hitch. I did not have to change any settings or increase any voltages to maintain the stability I had with my original 2x1GB of RAM. So it looks like the problems people had with this board and 4 sticks of RAM have been fixed by the latest BIOS updates because I am not having any problems.

@strangelife: Yes, I think you're right about the RAM. I'm quite satisfied with what I get right now. Tight subtimings gave me a nice boost and 4x1GB with 1T is nice also. I'll leave it there

Btw., I really found the problem with the 803 bios. My Razer mouse... no kidding. I'm using the second board I got now as it gives me much nicer overclocks with low NB voltage.
Right now 3.933GHz with 1.35V NB Had to use a new CPU block to keep my chip under its "trouble temp", but at least now everything works as supposed.

@jultsu: I had very low reported voltages on both boards too. But they are very stable were they are and the PSU itself gives the right voltage... well, doesn't "look" nice but as long as it works, it's ok for me.

@radeon: The first time I'd recommend using the "drivers from the CD" Don't ask me why, but some features the chipset offers didn't work as nicely with the "normal" 680i 9.53 package from the Nvidia site. The 650i package didn't even install correctly for me.

1T with four gigs is unheard of for most. That is sweet. I can do 1t up to 1000MHz with 2.2v. I have to run 2T at my current speed of 1066MHz/2.225 I only have 2gigs so I can't test anything else.

Your CPU overclock and low voltage make me want to get water real bad. NICE! I can't wait for winter so I can up the speed safely. I can now because my temps are not bad at all but I never let anything get over 50c, it is a personal rule.

Yes, worked on both boards real nicely. Limits RAM clocks to ~900MHz, but that's ok as long as I can keep 4-4-4 (which works also).
CPU clocks weren't easy even with water. The chip I have does clock nicely, but it needs to stay cool to do so.

With 0801 and 0803 BIOSes I could also do 4-4-4-12 1T using 4x1GB sticks @800MHz. My Razer mouse wouldn't let me enter the BIOS or pass POST too, I'm using a Copperhead over here with latest firmware, but alas, those new BIOSes gave me more trouble than just that (I believe I fixed it by disabling USB Legacy support, rebooting and enabling it again, please try it). Every first time I (re)booted my system, it would only display a black screen and it would only boot successfully by manually rebooting it (pressing the normal power button for 4 seconds and then pressing it again). It was rock solid with my RAM and that's my only problem with my current BIOS (0602), sometimes my PC just freezes without warning and totally random too.

Hey guys fairly new to this forum and haven't had time to read all the comments.I have had this mobo for a while now but haven't really played around with it till a couple of months ago(when i finally got my Msi 8800 Ultra OC.Anyway i think i have already hit the wall on my setup for E6600@3.375@1.40V in bios(CPU-Z@1.248V).I can boot and run Orthos for 16 hours @3.465(with different voltage increases on NB,SB,Vtt etc...)but as soon as i play any game like COD2 or F.E.A.R.,system freezes on me and have to reset and also my HDD runs a CHKDSK if i go too far.I was thinking of getting a water setup for this mobo(CPU,GPU,NB,SB)but i don't know if it's worth it or not.I would love to see my E6600 at a stable 3.6(or more )I will read more on you guy's setings and try e'm out myself. My setup btw are:E6600,Thermalright 120 extreme,MSI 8800 Ultra OC,PC P&C 750 quad silencer,OCZ pc6400 Special Ops Edition and of course this mobo.
