Those are some beefy looking Mouspots, should work very well running without a coldplate.

I think 1300MHz for a singel card is within reach with these pots. Should be no problem really looking at how 1240MHz ran with my rev1 almost holding -80C with 1.55V. Well over 1200MHz should be no problem for Crossfire.

I have enough of em But I lack a QX6850 to run on em. QX6700 wont clock at all on those cards maxing at 4900MHz, really strange.

My ASUS Blitz Formula, is not as overclockable as my other two ABIT AW9D-MAX mobos.....I mean that with the AW9D I can bench on ait 3Ds at ~4060MHz and with the Formula maxed out at ~4000MHz.... BUT Formula IS dumn fast, VERY easy to use, it boots EVERY TIME no matter what and I have enjoed it since I got it.....I'll give it a try under LN2 to see how it will react...

    Great job Kinc!

hipro >> does the lower clocks on Blitz are caused by bad Vcore section?

No I don't think so coz I've tested many VCore feeds.....

    X6800 and QX6700....
QX6700 does on AW9D ~4000MHz 3Ds and on Blitz ~3900MHz....Though on Blitz it's MUCH easier to overclock/play with it....

ok.. strange.. it seems KInc is right with that, the "old" quad don't overlock same with it..perhaps QX6850 will go better with it.. but i can think to the bios imaturity.. I plan take one when i can..

The same thing for me with blitz compared to p5w64 on air. I had a difference of 100MHz. But as you say the perf is very good, a tight perf card indeed And crosslinx works very good!

2x8, limiting the perf. indeed (but far better than 16/4). X38 samples is around the corner, will be very interesting to test with 2x16 PCIE2.0.

yes.. specially cause it seems the 2900 have been designed for PCIEX 2.0.. even if the card is not only designed for, the 8pin connectors and the increase when you up the PCI exrpress frequencies show they will really scale with PCI ex2.0

You need to flash the cards with new BIOSes for CF overclocking to work right now.
