    I'll tell you one thing, this board sucks donkey balls when paired with a Quadcore.

    If I go a hair past 3ghz (9x333fsb), my computer will restart, be it 15 minutes after I turn it on, or 4 hours. I'm planning on getting a P5B Deluxe to try find out what this Q6600 can really do, and putting my E6400 back in the P5N-E.

    What are u expecting, NVidia 6X0 with a Q6X00...?

    Grab an 965 board asap. P5B Del is great (i have it for many months on my main system), however the pci-e 1x prob has drove me nuts. If your planning on running @ 4/5 mem divider (which requires 1.65v especially above 400mhz fsb), don't get it...

    Duh ... I have freaking problem with this board last night ..... here it is ....

    I overclocked E6600 chip to 3.9GHz (with vcore=1.55v in BIOS) with watercooling system. Temperature in idle stage was 38*C - 39*C and upto 63*C when loaded.

    E6600 (FSB=1734MHz , RAM=812MHz) - multiplier=9
    vcore=1.55v
    vdimm=2.1+v
    NB volt=1.39+v
    RAM - SuperTalent (4-3-3-8) set at 4-3-3-5
    BIOS version= 0401

    All of sudden, I got BSOD on this board (Page_fault_in_nonpage_area).
    After rebooted, received error. When I went into BIOS to check, found out something weird in the POWER tab...

    vcore ----> 4.08v
    3.3v ----> 4.08v
    5v ----> 6.88v
    12v ----> 16.32v

    "Holly Sh*t ..... what the F is going on" ....
    My first thought was lower vcore (to 1.5375v) and used DMM to measure it ... DMM showed vcore = 1.514v. --> Measured vdimm, vchip ... all showed acceptable values ......Fine!
    Rebooted again .... Problem still there ...

    Reset everthing to STOCK setup .... Sheesss .... no luck

    The above values are still showing the same. So, the problem could be the voltage reading sensor screw up somehow.

    I bought this board back in Dec 2006. RMA still available?

    Have any of you guys had problems going over 650mhz on memory? I'm also having problems getting high frequency with tight timings. This is the best I've been able to do so far. This is with 2.35v.

    Nice clocks on the memory, what voltage are you pumping to the NB?

    so the q6600 works with this board and 0401 bios? im not expecting an overclock of more than 3ghz anyway.

    I'm pretty sure I was still running the 401 bios, so yes. 3ghz is childs play, even for this board.

    I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't get passed 2.5 ghz with mine. I have an E4300 and 2 gigs of Corsair XMS2. I read an article over at Legion Hardware with the E4400, all they did with this board was change the FSB to 1200. I've tried doing this and usually don't even boot into windows. 1100 is usually the fastest I can boot at with the 8x multi.

    Any thoughts?

    I've tried the 0604 beta bios, it sucked for me, locked multipliers for the E4300 again, didn't really notice any improvements overclocking wise, 3 useless bios updates from Asus (0505, 0602, 0604 all sucked), back to 0401...

    My board has a problem with fsb between 1100-1300, but works fine above and below. I suggest you try setting fsb at 1400 and work your way up if it works. You might have to give some more volt to nb and cpu.

    I'm running 0401 btw. But I don't think this is a bios issue.

    Only tried the new 0604 bios updated from 0505, and my 333strap coldboot problem seems to be gone. Previously i had to turn off and on the psu before booting the computer left off overnight, or it would crash in 3d. Also Vdroop is gone, completely and the pc is more stable overall. I set 1.45 in bios and i get 1.48v. Measured with a multimeter and also no droop in load.
    with 0505 i had to set 1.55v to get 1.45v, both idle and load. I'm measuring from the spot showed in VR-Zone's article.

    Tried SuperPi and it seems a bit slower tough.

    The board under volts quite a bit for both the NB and the VMEM:

    Umodded:
    NB
    Bios = 1.39v, DM = 1.30v
    Bios = 1.56v, DM = 1.45v
    Bios = 1.7v, DM = 1.6v

    VMEM
    Bios = 2.178v, DM 2.0v~

    Pencil Modded:
    NB
    Bios = 1.39v, DM 1.30v (no change from unmodded strangely)
    Bios = 1.56v, DM 1.55v
    Bios = 1.7v, DM 1.7v

    VMEM
    Bios = 2.178, DM = 2.2v

    Be careful with the voltages if you are pencil modding the board, you should only need the NB volt mod, unless you want to bin your DDR2 modules
