Ive ordered a p35 dq6 + e2160, finally will be able to use my DDR2 ram which I bought slightly too early. I hope this clocks aswell as the p5k deluxe. It was £10 cheaper, and I wasnt sure if the p5k deluxe had an onboard header for a parallel port pci plate.

Should I do a fsb mod on my cpu straight away?

This is what I get when I try the lower multi. Still stuck at 426mhz fsb. I want the higher fsb and not be stuck at 426mhz fsb.

Are the realtek ones newer? Also what link do u follow? U just get the "HD audio driver" and the lan driver? I looked at the readme and the 889 codec was not mentioned, similarly I couldnt match the lan chip to the drivers.

All I did was just cut the power if I seen it was at the same speed I had before the overclock. Turned it back on after 5 seconds and reported the right speed I intended for. ODD

Could you do a 1M run with those settings? Any other benchmarks would also be nice.

If i've learned one thing, you NEVER use the downloadable files from GB...always go direct to the vendor websites, the Realtek drivers are legit and more recent then what is on the DVD.

I've installed and tested, Realtek driver 1.67 will show the 889A codec in the information panel.

    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

Look at the information on the Realtek wesbite, it states what LAN chips the driver supports: RTL8111B/RTL8168B/RTL8111/RTL8168/RTL8111C

    You have an RTL8111B.

New Performance BIOS next week.... or I just jinxed it by a month. It should be based on the P35T code we got today, memory performance is up, Quad Core OC to 485, and a few other improvements. The P35T finally broke DDR3-2000 today, but it was single channel.... Dual Channel DDR3 is around 1900 stable on this board now...

I found the NIC driver under 10/100/1000 lan pci-express:
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false
    RTL8168_8101E_664_200704.zip

    And WDM_R167.exe for the audio

Do I need to download the p35 chipset driver from intel or with the Gigabyte driver do?

I chose cheapest shipping and my e2160 will be here on the 30th apparently.

    Swapping a 965 mobo with a P35 one

Have someone tried to swap "on the fly" a 965 motherboard with a P35 one under Windows XP sp2 or Vista?

After changing only the mobo, will the O.S. starts again (maybe in safe mode) or I have to do a clean operating system install?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
No, a clean O/S install cause' of different chipset drivers is best. But it should start, though you will get messages about reactivating XP etc..

Get the chipset and Intel Matrix manager direct from Intel, get JMicron drivers from the links i posted.

That E2160...i don't think the latest F4 bios supports it, it's not on the CPU support list.

When changing mobo always do a fresh install.

Got this for the Intel storage matrix driver:
    iata70_enu.exe Download

    Ver:7.0.0.1020 Date:5/4/2007 Size:5640 (KB)
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filt...4&submit=Go%21

    This page for chipset drivers?:
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filt...4&submit=Go%21
    Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility

I dont think I need Jmicron drivers cause I will probably turn it off due to problems it caused on previous boards.

The Intel drivers you linked are old, here's the most recent:

    http://downloadmirror.intel.com/1132....0.1017_PV.EXE

    And the latest chipset:

    http://downloadmirror.intel.com/1088....0.1013_PV.EXE

The initial download pages on Intel don't always show the latest drivers, you have to dig deeper.

Ive got the xp-120 and bought the lga775 retention bracket (just so I could buy an thermalright ultra extreme at a later date if I wanted), the supplied screws are only about 10mm long I would need 15-20mm to compensate for leaving the crazy cool system as it is. I dont have a cpu yet so, its not like its stopping me putting it together yet.

doing 520MHz FSB within 10 minutes of installing windows. I am sure it will go higher but my CPU will not to more than 3100MHz on stock cooling. And my Noctua NH-U12 will not fit, and too lazy to install watercooling right now .

Get busy and put it under water. Let's see what it can do.

No water for a couple of weeks likely, as i want to do some case cutting for better cable management and don't have the time for that right now.

But one other thing, this board is handling 4X1gb sticks of ram so much better than either of the P5B-Ds i used before. Running Orthos blend @ 500MHz FSB 1:1 with no subtiming tweaking or anything. I couldn't even get them stable on my P5B-Ds.

    Richard,

Does the Ninja Rev.B overhang the first RAM slot? I wanted to get the Thermalright 120 Extreme, but the mounting bracket has a faulty design, so I am thinking of getting the Ninja Rev.B and a DS3P board which should have the same layout as the DQ6. The 4G RAM will have fins like the Corsair Dominator series.

Thinking of mounting it like this:

looks like a sweet board based on those cpuz shots; and the low droop and high power regulation is also very appealing.

it is also good to hear that this board is clocking/handling 4x1 gig sticks well:

    one of these + a penryn + a g92 please.
