Glow if your not picking up the description, its best to steer because you can mess up the board even with the pencil version.
Just try overclocking with normal settings, then come back to this in some months if you still want more.

Those parts are probably available from radio shack yea. Where it says measure would be where you could physically measure the voltage being applied since the motherboard may no longer be accurate in its readings

Good advice I don't plan on it quite yet. Anyways but can someone tell me since I read from one person saying the new revisions aren't as good OCers is that true or not? This is the board right? I'm surprised with how much you guys like this board not many people are leaving reviews or getting it.

It's Ironic I went from Biostar to higher end DFI board now I'm going back. haha

well i tries the stilt mod with that pic you posted and my board went crazy and i fried the board for some reason. so i was surfin the net when i found this site for the deluxe pencil mod. we all no that there the same as the 965pt just without a few things. so i tried the pencil mod and it works great. ive had my board up to 2.5 volts runnin 615mhz on a 2gb ocz set of ram. i have no problem with my board but that pencil mod still works and have been using it since. i just built a buddys pc and used the new version 5 965 and its very nice also. well heres the link check it out learn a lil bit on volt mods.

Yes i did, i dont have the board to try the modded bios. I'm planning to get one.

RH modded bios list doesnt mention about unlocking lower multi, so i'm asking other owners to confirm.

Hey guys I know this is going to be somewhat Bias asking you guys but I figure I'de get a first hand response, Since I might not be able to order the DFI 650i board by the time I need to, I'm trying to decide between, this biostar, evga 650i, DS3 1.3. Either way it will be running a pair of DDR800 Firestix and a e4300. What do you guys think? Any of you regret getting this board or love it?

Has anyone got the new version recently? I believe its V5.0

In the bios, ram voltage can go up to 2.6v, vcore can go up to 1.8v .

Mine say Tp965. I order p965pt so i guess this is the new verion of 965pt.

Can someone report if the RH bios still works on this board?

Edit: Wait can someone confirm that my board is indeed 965pt? because i was seaching the web and i found Tforce p965 Express which is not PT. I'm worried that i was sent a wrong board. I ordered Tforce 965pt.

Rebels Haven reported that the board didn't seem to like 500FSB until the memory was installed in slots 2 and 4, counting from the CPU. Also reporting not to use the 965PT BIOS on the 965 Express. Something about losing control of Vcore and Vdimm. They have posted modded BIOS for the 965 Express.

Has anyone tried a quad core CPU in this board yet? I still haven't found a definitive answer on if the 965PT supports them.

    Thanks.

Of course it supports them. Any P965 board supports them. The question is how far can it overclock them.

I am referring to post 293 a E6300 at 532 fsb, I can not quote it as I guess I do not have enough posts

The board is the Biostar TForce 965PT, out of the box.

Can one flash the Biostar Tforce P965 with the PT bios????

To date I am happy with this board I am running my 6300 at 450 fsb but I am also using OCZ XTC PC6400 5,5,5,12 2x1GB and 2x512. I have the DDR set to 667 in bios. I also have some GSKILL PC6400 2x1GB HZ series in other machine but I wanted to run 3GB. I may opt to test the Gskill out since it is 4,4,4,12 and I should be able to run the DDR2 at 800 in bios with same fsb??

My board is identical to this one which from what I see in the thread is the latest??

    Update Description:
    1. Update Ip96a921.rh with Memtest 1.70.
Will the above bios work on the P965 in the link above???

    Hoping for some replies, thanks

Does anyone know where to download the new BIOS update The Stilt is talking about for Biostar TForce 965? Also, the program used to flash it, if it's not an .exe you can easily use through windows.

Also, does E2140 work by default, or does it require a BIOS flash?

I got my e6300 up to 475x7 stable at 1.40 vcore, air cooled on 965pt 103 bios, using 2GB of OCZ ddr2-1066 special ops edition ram in dual channel configuration. i'm pretty sure more volts would yield higher speeds, as 1.40v gave me a 42mhz fsb increase over 1.325v, but i don't feel like I want to increase my vcore anymore without getting better cooling first. here's a screenshot:

setting the ram divider to 533 with a E2140 processor and DDR2-667 memorys results in a divider of 3:4. sorry if I didn't provide enough info.

To get 1:1 with this equipment, would I need to wait for the nb strap change to 1066? if so, when does that occur?

Hey guys, was wondering if you could help me out with a problem.

So I bought the Biostar TForce 965PT from mwave for $38 refurb. Paired it up with an E4500. Was able to o/c it to 2.9GHz without a voltage bump. I am running some PC2-4200 RAM (DDR2 533?). Here is my problem: Often, I will be in Windows XP Pro Sp2 and whenever I try to switch applications or even open up Windows Explorer, the computer will just...lag. It takes sometimes 45 seconds to bring the windows explorer window up, or even internet explorer window. When It lags like this, the taskbar becomes unresponsive, or something I can click on different programs, but the windows either don't come up, or it does, but I can't right-click on the program button on the task bar to close it, because the menu shows up but goes away immediately. Do you guys think it is the RAM that is causing this?

    Thanks for all the help.

I figured it out. Turns out that out of the myriad of applications that Creative gives you to install with their X-Fi cards, something was causing my system to lag. so I've since downloaded an upgraded driver, and uninstalled all extra applications. great system speed now.
