    Update - BIOS 0902

First the good news! VCORE issues are now FIXED.. as far as i can see! which is great!

BUT! now my cpu appears to need alot more VCORE in order to reach the same overclock i achieved in 0302..

    Eg. for E6600 @ 3.2GHz (400x9)
    In bios;
    0302 - 1.30V (8hr+ Orthos Blend Stable)
    0902 - 1.38V (Undergoing orthos blend as i type..)

Although there seems to be no diff to the temp of the cpu with 0.08V more!

    I'll be back.. =)

there's something strange about bios 0902!

Its not the VCORE Locking, its freely adjustable now (1600FSB). The strange thing i've found is that now in 0902, EVEREST Ultimate 2007 (in the sensor section) reports a much lower CPU Core Voltage compared to Hardware Monitor or Probe II.

Back on 0302, the Vcore was exactly the same on both programs.

Let me give you an example:

    Back on 0302 Bios
Vcore set in bios - 1.4125
Hardware monitor in Bios - 1.31
    Probe II - 1.31
    EVEREST Ultimate - 1.31V

    Now on 0902 Bios
Vcore set in bios - 1.3500
    Hardware Monitor - 1.33
    Probe II - 1.33
EVEREST Ultimate - 1.23<- Hence this is why i can't get my cpu stable, it seems to be actually only getting 1.24V instead of the 1.34..

    And on 0902 Bios
Vcore set in bios - 1.4125
Hardware Monitor in bios - 1.39
    Probe II - 1.39
    EVEREST Ultimate - 1.30V

It seems that on 0902, the Vcore "digits" are upped, but the vcore supplied to the cpu is alot less (a whole 0.1v). That seems to be the problem i'm experiencing.

Also the reported "1.39v" on 0902 is not making my cpu any hotter compared to the 1.31V from 0302..

I'm not sure if i'm making sense.. haha =D

About time! I had problems with 0702 though (system wouldn't boot had to throw an old celeron on the board and reflash back to 0602, then it worked again). I think I'll wait for a non beta bios

Will test Vcore with multimeter and Everest and Asus Probe today.
I can test about up to 1,65V with my celeron D 347.

0902 is also a beta. it was released on the FTP servers a few hours after 0802. 0902 is the beta that fixes the adjustable vcore issues but has a very strange issue..

some programs do not read vcore correctly, that doesnt mean the vcore isnt correct, you want accurate vcore reading, use speedfan......doesnt mean its a bad bios or its a problem because a program reads vcore bad, asus's own probe doesnt read vcore correct and speedfan does....

GAR, I have installed SpeedFan, and it reports the same vcore as EVEREST =)

So its not just EVEREST.. Probe is reporting the same Vcore as Hardware Monitor in Bios, but anything other program is reporting a diff vcore.

So it seems Vcore values in probe and hardware monitor are very high, 0.08V higher then actual supplied voltage. =)

So it seems when i set 1.4125 in bios, it droops to 1.39 -> which droops to 1.31 actual going to cpu =P

Sorry guys am i making any sense at all? LOL

'Cause i know my cpu can do 3.2ghz stable w/1.31V, but with bios 0302 i had to set 1.4125 to get 1.31V...

In bios 0902, i still have to set 1.4125 which droops 0.02 = 1.39V in Hardware Monitor and Probe II, which further droops 0.08V to 1.31V actual getting to the cpu (Everest + Speedfan report the same thing). =)

Bios is working good, so far, the only issue i have ran into so far, is everytime i shut down my pc completely, and turn it on, it wont boot intill i press my restart button then it starts but at default settings, but i go into bios and all my settings are there, all i do is exit and save and it starts fine....other than that my system is running rock solid stable, passes orthos in large and small fft's.......ohh and the chick, WOW i have no clue who it is but those boobs are something else..........ohh and im using 1.5000 in bios to get 1.44 in windows and 1.41 under load with the vdroop....wich is working fine for me, for 3.6ghz all i need is 1.41......anyone else having the bios reseting issue when shutting down?
