Very interesting, I was just wondering about the impact of an 8800 on a loop... eagerly awaiting results, I might have to change my next project depending on your findings

As for heat, dude, milan usually has snow in january, this year we had 20c and trees in full-force flowery spring mode.. freaky O.o

Yeah, when I am done this bunch of reviews I am going to rig a shroud over my PA 120.3 to pull in outside air (currently 2c!) over it when I bench. It'll be interesting to see the differences in temps with really cold air blowing thru the rad. Gotta be careful to keep my water temps above the dew point or I'll have to deal with condensation.

Life caught up with me, in a bad way. Am moving to Italy (where I am right now) so I get to have fun (not!) purging my loop after its been sitting for 3 months!

Compared to a CPU-only loop or a previous GPU? And if so, what GPU?

I want to redo my shrouds in fiberglass and avionAL, but I'm going to need that custom dual-PA160 setup if that's increase over an X1900 or 7900...

Ah, ok. So I reckon 2-3c above my X1900 if I mounted an 8800 in my loop... hmm that might be a problem here in Italy (no aircon), I'll have to ask how hot it gets in august

Why would I joke about global temps rising, 70f on a late december day when the avg is about oh 35f. When one day is 60f, the next 20f with a wind chill of -5, then that night it goes up to 40f.

the avg to date snow fall is less then 2", when the norm is like 8"-10"

Don't you know its normal for a GIMONGUS piece of Canada to break away every year?

Its normal for 2-4" of snow in the desert?

this is just a freaky year for weather, global warming is probably not the cause of it, global warming will take at least a few more decades before its effects, if any, will be seen.

Back on topic, keep up the great work, hope to hear the results soon!

Gotta finish the G80 waterblock review. . .then it's the FuZion vs the Storm G4 vs the ApogeeGT with AMD and Intel test beds. . .
Would you be interested in adding an MCW6002 to that review, just to see how they stack up to it? I've got one with both s939 and s775 mounting plates. I'm not sure how flat it is anymore though, as it seems hard mounts on a bare core might have done something to it.

you mean in a drastic measure, but global warming has been happening for a long time, just its gradually accelerating. Much more then in the last 2000 years.

I have a terrible way with words, what I meant to say was that we haven't had a long enough of record of temps to accurately tell if global warming is a new occurrence or if the average temperature of the earth fluctuates as much as it has on a regular basis (on a millennial scale).

thems can only be 10-15 difference, but when you have a 70 degree day in Dec where I am that is REALLY unusually. Yes there are fluxuations, but there there is dramatic climatic affects like what happened in Canada and when scientists all across the globe report the changes like we have been seeing, something is not right. Also take into account the number of sources of pollution, even with saftey precautions and measures, look at the lenght of time Man was polluting the envroment, even LONG before it was a world wide concern.

The funny thing is, Ben Franklin is recorded as having made comments and writing about how man was affecting mother nature in the 17 hundreds. LONG before the Industrial revolution.

OK, time to revive this thread. I have had time to convert to a C2D set up with a EVGA board, a sweet week 29B E6300 and a 2gb set of Mushkin Redlines XP2 8000 ram. I have a set of beasty Corsair Dominator PC10K's coming. Reggie tells me my cascade is next on the bench. My PC P&C Turbo 1K is getting swapped for a single rail model and should be back in by Friday of this week coming. I have the cold air induction hooked up which ducts outside air and sends it across the rad. My water temps are averaging 5-7c below ambient. I will have volt mod my 8800GTX's this week by the time the psu comes back.

In other words. . .I am nearly ready to start torturing some G80 water blocks!!

I will begin gathering data with my new and improved rig as soon as the psu shows up.
