    G.Skill F2-6400PHU2 4-4-4-12 [2x1GB] Testing

Hi guys the other day I decided to test my G.Skill mem rated @ 400Mhz 4-4-4-12... 2.1v

    Test System
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
    Mobo: Gigabyte DQ6
    Mem: G.Skill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ @ 400Mhz 4-4-4-12 2.1v
    PSU: Antec TrueControl 2.0 550w

    Picture of the sticks

Board is Unmodded so the max I can give to the sticks is 2.45v... It will be vmoded soon...

    800Mhz @ 3-3-3-8 2.25v

    870Mhz @ 3-3-3-8 2.45v

    1000Mhz @ 4-4-4-12 2.2v

    1066Mhz @ 4-4-4-12 2.3v

    1012Mhz @ 4-4-3-9 2.3v

Result at Cas 3 is not bad for $300 mem

Hope you enjoy.. I will add more SS by the day.

    I hit 2.27v 1M 4-4-4-12 @ 1100 with mine SuperT 800c4
But can't boot into windows with greater dividers than 1:1 over 370-380 fsb

Wow is it only from Bios, if so share it with us I have f7a and f7b , but that's impossible, no OS load over 385 different than 1:1
Upload somewhere your exact Bios, so I can try it, 10x in advance

SuperPI time is very bad, cos not tweaked and very loaded OS
I can make it only with setfsb

I have this memory and I cannot push it to even low 900's, what could be the problem. How can I check what exact chip is in there.

The problem is that the HZ kits don't use Micron D9 any more (at least not the 800MHz kit). Taking off the heatspreaders is the only way to be sure, but struggling to get over 900MHz is not D9 lol.

lol so its not my settings its the chip. i thought if they were black underneath the spreaders they were d9.

anyhow is there any chance gskill would replace this ram, because i paid a lot for it thinking that it would oc well. i feel betrayed.

To tell if it's D9, you have to read the code on the IC's themselves and there is other giveaway features that tell you if they are D9 or not if there's nothing obvious written on them.

D9 doesnt struggle to do 900 unless you're on CL3 so I'd say its probably not D9. However AFAIK not overclocking well is not grounds for RMA, if they do rated speeds/timings/voltage they work fine.

BTW that is a gorgeous pitty you have as your avatar.

If you want to buy ram that OCs well you're best knowing with 100% certainty that you are getting what you want. I almost bought that exact same HZ kit but I heard that maybe they didn't use D9s, and then I looked around for all the kits that do, which is why I got Cellshock - Micron D9 is 100% guaranteed.
