    Smile Cedar Mill 631 @ 6.800 Mhz - LN2 - WR [UPDATED: 7220 Mhz / SPI @ 7 Ghz

Today me and Silence (my son), we had our first LN2 session. Before we move to X6800XE we started with a Cedar Mill 631 to get familiar with LN2 and we got the WR for Cpuz-validated ss.

One more 1st place for OCX Team Insano

Also, a lot of fun with LN2

    Board. P5W64 WS Pro
    Vcore: 1,72V
    VMCH: 1,9V

The setup before starting with LN2:

Starting filling mousepot (Rev 1) with LN2:

Temps in Windows with ASUS Probe:

Temps showed in TM, -174 inside the pot, -171 in pot base:

    The World Record:

We didn't run any benchs, this session was only for learning and to try to take the 631 WR

I've been thinking lately... I'd like to see someone take a Cedar Mill 670 and a modern C2D motherboard like a P5W64 or P5B or AW9D and go for the 7.6gHz "worlds fastest CPU" WR... that was set a while ago on an inferior board. Might be possible to beat it.

The thing that has limited previous WR for 631 was FSB (mobos then could not go over 450MHz) but with Conroe mobos I think that there`s more WRs to come

    Thank you all

No doubt these new c2d mobos help a lot with these type of cpu's... FSB is much easier to obtain...

The 6.800 mhz was to easy and at least 7 Ghz is perfectly possible with this setup but our goal was to get familiar with LN2 in first place.

I will try later the 7 Ghz and do some PI. Training for the X6800

why not just try a P5B Deluxe?

those are known to hit 500+ really easily, where as you had a 975X board, which while a good board... usually hits its limit between 450- 470 mhz... which is right where you hit the limit of the CPU.

you might be able to get more from the same CPU with the P5B Deluxe.

"The command and conquer model," said the EA CEO, "doesn't work. If you think you're going to buy a developer and put your name on the label... you're making a profound mistake."
