    X1900 and X1950XTX problem

    Guys,

I have a Saphire X1900 Master 512mb card and a Connect3D X1950XTX slave. I have seen results using X1900 and X1950 cards in crossfire, but cannot for the life of me get mine to run in crossfire.

    How do I do it?

    Cheers

I've tried using the Connect3D 6.8's and they find the cards but wont complete installation, and I have also tried the 6.10's and they install fine but won't do crossfire. I can't get any of the other drivers to install or find my X1950XTX card.

I just can't figure out why crossfire isn't working.

    6.8 won't work on X1950XTX, 6.10 is still beta

AFAIK there is a version of 6.10 which comes on the cd with the X1950, this is the only driver that wil work for now

I've been led to believe so as I've seen bench results from X1900 masters and X1950XTX's when the X1950XTX masters weren't out.

How do other people make them work?

The drivers I have are aparently 6.8 versions which have been modified either by ATi or by Connect3D to allow the X1950XTX. Weirdly, my supplied drivers don't find the X1900 Crossfire card.

    Any help, please guys lol.

I'm sure when the X1950XTX master wasn't around there were people running with the X1900 crossfire card?

I thought so, do you know how to do it and which drivers to use?

I can't seem to get the 6.9 drivers to install off the ATi site, it says something about the inf file being incomplete every time I run the installer.

    Any ideas anyone?

Go into C:\ATI and delete everything in there. That's the folder the installer extracts to to actually install the drivers. Also, go to C:\Documents and Settings\Yourprofilename\Local Settings\Temp and delete everything in there too.

Also, you're fully updated in windowsupdate, right?

Fully updated and patched yep. Icluding AV and all that jazz :P

I've used Driver Cleaner Pro which I believe deletes these files automatically but I will give it a shot later this evening when I get home and see if it works.
