    SC2602S chip: which pin?

I just switched over to an MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 and It has two of these SC2602S chips behind whihc I think regulate the core and memory voltage. With the SC1102CS chips, I had to solder the VR to pin 11. Which pin for this chip then?

Tried to find a datasheet for that chip from semtech.com but couldn't find any info about SC2602S. Are you sure its SC2602?

Its also possible that this is a new voltage regulator chip and they haven't uploaded the datasheets yet

Hi Macci. I tried searching on Semtach too, but couldn't find it. Even SC1102CS isn't on it. I wonder how it was known to be pin 11.
The board layout + traces is almost identical to the Abit card thats using SC1102 so I'm thinking it should be the same pin. I'm gonna measure the ohmage of the pins and if it gives me the ohmage I had with SC1102 at pin11, I'm gonna try a volt mod. Do you think it would kill anything if I did a wrong pin?

Edit: Can find the SC1102, my mistake :p

Yes its a good idea to measure the original resistance on pin11 and then put a VR w/ rather high resistance there (like 20 x the original resistance - so most likely around 2k VR) start turning it and then check if the voltage goes up

Macci, went ahead with the soldering and it did affect my voltages. So far uping the ram voltage doesn't seem to be benefitting overclock too much.

    Nice to hear it worked
The mem overvoltage doesn't seem to help much on my card either but GPU voltage increase sure helps a bit

Have you already installed some heavy cooling on the card?

Well not heavy by your standards, just some ramsinks and a 80 watt peltier cooled by water.

hehhe that's fairly heavy cooling for a video card
How is the MSI card doing - what kinda overclocks you getting out of it?
I'm thinking about upgrading my #2 system video card and might be getting one of those. Is its 64MB or 128MB version?

3Dmark at 337/610 with a tiny bit of artifacting. 1.81v core, 3.31v memory. Tried 1.85v core but couldn't hit 340. The core is an old one, 0152 A2 NV25.
Its a 128 mb version, with Samsung 4ns rams. Nothing spectacular about this card, but its cheap.
Benched at 12355, but am a bit disappointed as I hit 11k with a Radeon 8500, and expected at least 13k with a Geforce 4.

    LardArse,

    Can you take some PICS?
my card is a XFX ti4200 .. has the same SC2602S..
    What VR you used?

mine is doing 345/642 with 85w + chilled water..
i HAVE to vmod this card in a week or so.. because if sommething goes wrong i cant rma it next month..

if u can, please send more info to my mail uaza@watercooler.com.br

    Thank you

hmm.. ok ... just readed all pages on the other thread..

    Macci,
    you did with a 1kohm on pin11 & 14 right? should work with SC2602S ?
or its better to me try a 5k just on pin 11 ??

Im gonna messure voltages today ..

And What voltages seen to be safe for 24/7 and what for benchs?
85w tec + chilled water and Nothing on the mems..
btw.. i think im gonna do some getto ramsinks today

Uaza, I've done 1.96v almost 24/7 without any problems. 80w pelt + 35C water, no chiller... Accidentally did 2.8v once and got a white screen but core still alive.
But for the memory voltage, I would be really careful as they can fry at high voltages in a split second. And for my 4ns samsung rams, higher memory did nothing for overclock.

my mem is not volt modded yet.. i have to get another 5k..

    thank you

Can someone please clarify things a little for me? ... I have an MSI GF4Ti4200 64MB with the 3.6ns Hynix RAM. I really badly want to do the vmod for the core, and maybe the memory when my watercooling is setup for them.

I can post pics of the card, or send them to someone if they are willing to take a few mins to modify for visual instructions

    Thanks,

I would like to mod my gainward too...
but, i still have not clear if i have to do the measurement of the ohm and the voltage with the computer turned on or off.
then, after the mod, shall i increase the voltage gradually with the computer on???

    please help

i am almost ready to do the voltage mods, i just epoxied the first 2 mini waterblocks on my ram chips. am really anxious to see what i can get out of them with a little extra voltage and some good cooling.

    Thanks,

Cool... finally found a mod for my MSI Ti4200 card then... gonne try this out someday.

Anybody got any idea how fast I can make this card run with GPU watercooling (no peltier) and RAMsinks for all 4ns Samsung RAM chips and a heatsink on the back of the GPU? I've pushed my AGP Vcore to 1.7-1.8V if that is for any help (came with my DDR memory mod for my mobo).
